Job Description
Join our EMEA Cross Border Tax Operations team and play a pivotal role in ensuring tax compliance and driving process innovation at a leading global financial institution. This role offers a unique blend of operational tax work and technology-driven process improvement. If you have a strong background in tax or operations, demonstrated experience in implementing operational improvements/automation, a strong focus on controls and compliance, and a clear understanding of the importance of delivering exceptional service to our customers and stakeholders, then this role is for you!
As a Cross Border Tax Operations Associate in EMEA Tax Operations team, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance activities across multiple EMEA jurisdictions, supporting business travel taxation obligations, and leading automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, oversee tax calculations and filings, and independently design and implement automation solutions.
Job responsibilities
  • Manage tax calendars for all relevant countries and coordinate monthly reporting and tax withholding with payroll teams.
  • Support employer tax reporting by calculating sourced income, foreign tax credits and deductions, and related tax liabilities including country-specific obligations.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, independently design and develop automation solutions (e.g., Alteryx, UI Path, LLM, Tableau), and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and control within cross border tax operations.
  • Facilitate secure data sharing between tax vendors and internal stakeholders to meet monthly processing deadlines and support annual tax filing processes.
  • Monitor the status of tax support authorizations and filings across multiple locations.
  • Partner with Employment Tax, Payroll, and external vendors to ensure effective controls and compliance, and to maintain up-to-date processes in a changing environment.
  • Document and maintain robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all work streams, ensuring they remain current and comprehensive.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience in HR, Tax, Payment or related operations, with project and process improvement experience.
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; meticulous attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of handling sensitive employee data and resolving complex queries.
  • Process improvement mindset, adaptable to evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in automation and data analysis tools (e.g., Alteryx, UI Path, LLM, Tableau), with a proven track record of independently delivering automation projects.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security, including automation of data controls.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and resilient approach to work.
