Job Overview
Mitratech is seeking a Junior Legal Counsel in the UK or the EU to support our dynamic global legal team. This role will focus on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements (including NDAs, DPAs, MSAs, and SOWs) while also assisting on privacy, data protection, and related regulatory matters across the UK and the EU.
The ideal candidate is pragmatic, detail-oriented, and business-minded, with a background in commercial contracting and an interest in privacy and technology. You’ll report to the Associate General Counsel and partner with cross-functional teams to enable business growth while managing legal and commercial risk in a fast-paced, international environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior Legal Counsel looking to deepen experience in commercial contracts and privacy while working in a collaborative, global legal function.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including:
- Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Order Forms, Amendments
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
- Assist on privacy and data protection matters, including GDPR and local data laws across UK/EU.
- Partner with Sales, Professional Services, Security and Privacy to support commercial transactions and ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Interpret and advise on existing agreements, clarifying rights, obligations, and risk allocation for business stakeholders.
- Support vendor contract negotiations and procurement processes.
- Monitor and analyze evolving legal and regulatory developments in commercial, technology, and privacy law; update templates, playbooks, and training materials accordingly.
- Provide clear, practical legal advice to business teams to facilitate timely deal closure and operational efficiency.
Assist with other legal and operational projects as needed.
Requirements & Skills:
- Languages: Fluent in English (German is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of commercial contract law in the UK/EU.
- Solid understanding of data protection and privacy frameworks (e.g., GDPR).
- Excellent drafting, redlining, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
- Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working with a global team.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Gmail; experience with Salesforce, DocuSign, SharePoint, or Conga is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Juris Doctor (J.D.), or equivalent legal degree; LL.M. in contracts or international commercial law is a plus.
- 1-3 years of relevant legal experience in-house or at a law firm, with a focus on commercial contracts.
