Purpose of the position

Inspire and lead clients and colleagues in how data, insight and marketing technology can be used to design and deploy customer experiences that help brands grow.  Be a data champion, gain client and agency trust, deliver your strategic thinking through meetings, workshops and engaging stories, making the complex simple; be bold with your ideas whilst paying attention to the detail, delivering your work to the highest quality and professionalism.

You’ll be a data “evangelist” proactively showing internal colleagues and clients the power of data and what it can do to deliver on the brands promise, creating more engaging, relevant, and impactful experiences across all touchpoints between a brand and its prospect or customer base (B2C as well as B2B).   You provide the commercial rigour to sell-in and prove the commercial incremental value of creative customer experiences, spotting new opportunities across clients to sell in our data services to generate incremental income for the agency. 

This role contains a mix of new business development and client growth, farming for, identifying and generating data opportunities that turn into paid for delivery projects, plus contributing and presenting in agency pitch opportunities. To this end you will be dealing with C-suite level clients, senior colleagues, and senior stakeholders at 3rd party client partners (Martech, media & data operations agencies and suppliers)

02 Fundamentals

Actionable Data Strategy development and ownership

Develop Data Strategies that provide clients with a clear understanding and roadmap of how they can grow and optimise their first party data assets and customer insights to create meaningful connections and deliver better consumer experiences.

Look for and convert new revenue generating Data Consultancy opportunities, owning, planning and writing all ‘Statements of Work’ for projects that you are leading. Work with your colleagues in client services and planning to ensure the right level of resourcing and costs are included to deliver the work profitably.

Data Evangelist

Create strong one to one working relationships with key client stakeholders at all levels. Be client facing at all times, taking the initiative to plan and lead relevant client and internal meetings and workshops.

Be the bridge linking clients’ data and technical capabilities with helia planning and creative teams. Create strong and trusting working relationships with key stakeholders across the Havas Village and our clients.

Work with the clients’ and helia data analysis / science teams to optimise the value they can get from data. Look for opportunities, write strategic proposals and requirements documents, ensuring your recommendations help our planners and clients’ find answers to, and make smarter decisions on, key strategic marketing and business challenges.

Developing the data offering

Help to grow and develop the Havas Data offering by supporting the Head of Data Consultancy in writing case studies, award entries and designing innovative products/services, for both internal and external clients. 

Stay relevant and knowledgable by connecting with industry developments, whether data, technology or compliance related. 

Winning new business

Where required, work with the Head of Data Consulting and / or Global Head of Data in the development of pitch content, working with colleagues in both the UK and across the Havas network.

A Converged.Ai champion

Become a subject matter expert, practioner, and advisory for the Havas global intelligence and audience solution, Converged.Ai, supporting both helia and Village applications for both client work and pitches.

03 What you will need to succeed

  • A minimum 6 years experience, agency or client side, delivering data solutions, insight analysis, and strategies that have contributed to more meaningful consumer experiences, resulting in improved KPI performance.

  • Highly numerate -  an excellent consultative understanding of analysis and segmentation techniques/tools (churn /retention, NBA, engagement scores, segmentation, customer value maps, natural language processing) and their application to a marketing and commercial environment.

  • Technically knowledgable – a good consultative understanding (through experience or accreditation) of one or more marketing automation platforms, such as Bloomreach, Braze, Insider, Salesforce or Adobe cloud applications and their benefits and use within CX design. 

  • Strategic thinker - a solid and in depth understanding of data driven customer engagement & loyalty, with a proven track record in devising data, insight, measurement and audience strategies that optimise and utilise 1st, 2nd and 3rd party structured and unstructured data.

  • Analytical doer – can work to a high standard in Excel, producing own insights / interpretations, business cases (loyalty proposition value and campaign forecasting), and complex test plans.

  • Visually creative – able to design and visualise detailed communication contact strategies (ideally using Figma).  Can present data and insight in a conscise, engaging, visual story in Powerpoint.

  • Leader – someone who is able to pro-actively take a leading role in all aspects of the work that we do to meet client needs whether it’s taking a lead on a project, a client meeting, or a data practice related opportunity/issue.

  • Mentor and Coach – you could be responsible for managing a Data Consultant or mentoring someone from another team. Aside from day to day management you will develop this persons talent and support them in achieving their objectives and removing barriers that prevent them from being a data champion or understanding how and why data strategy is important to CX.

  • Facilitator – Make it easy and enjoyable to work with you and the data, ensuring that interactions between the Data Consulting team and agency/client stakeholders is rewarding, fun,  productive and valuable.

  • Communicator – able to work with non-data literate or data literate people at any level to show how data and our services can support our clients in delivering to their CX objectives. An articulate and engaging presenter - able to take ideas and make them come alive in presentations using tools at your disposal.
