Job Description

Location: Sheffield - Office based
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 DOE

Monday to Friday working 8:30 - 17:00 or 9:00 - 17:30 (37.5 hours per week)

The successful candidate must drive and have their own car due to the need to travel to a Data Centre and transport equipment.

Daisy is seeking a passionate and technically astute IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of technical proficiency and a proven track record in delivering complex integration and separation projects. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing IT infrastructure within our internal and externally hosted systems. A deep understanding of IT security, networking, and cloud platforms—particularly AWS and Microsoft Azure—is essential.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help define and develop the core IT infrastructure of Daisy, ensuring it remains robust, secure, and adaptable to future business needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and assist with the implementation of a Daisy standalone IT infrastructure.
  • Design, support & optimise physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with external networking, infrastructure and support teams.
  • Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for system administration tasks
  • Manage and complete effective documentation of server procedures regarding design and implementation of hardware, software, and systems
  • Actively perform system monitoring, verifying the availability and integrity of all servers, systems and key processes
  • Be an escalation point for the deskside support team.
  • Mentor the junior members of the IT team
  • Be able to act on Cyber Security Alerts

Qualifications

  • Project work involvement\implementation\planning
  • Microsoft Dynamics
  • VMware / Hyper-V implementation\administration\troubleshooting
  • General System Administration skills (Operating systems, hardware, virtualization)
  • Infrastructure security (Firewalls\AV)
  • Advanced working knowledge of Active Directory/DHCP/DNS/GPO etc.
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012r2 – 2022
  • Various Backup Tools including Rubrik and DPM
  • Organised with high attention to detail.
  • Cloud Experience AWS/Azure
  • Cyber Security Knowledge
  • Microsoft 365 Experience

  • System Centre Suite (DPM\VMM\SCOM\SCCM\Orchestrator) exposure and usage
  • CASB/DLP
  • ZTNA experience (Zscaler)
  • SAN Storage Solutions (Dell, HPE)
  • Experience working towards Telecom Security Act
