3PL Contract Manager

You will work closely with all teams becoming an integral part of the logistics team, working with the 3PL in order to improve service and operational activities.

Please note this role is classed as 'remote' but will require daily travelling to our warehouses around Corby, Northampton and Sheffield. The ideal candidate should be based in a commutable distance to these locations. 

 Here are some of the EXCITING things you’ll get to do: 

  • Analysis of data Evaluate 3PL performance metrics to ensure delivery of all metrics within the 3PL agreements, implement documented root cause failure analysis and action plans to drive improved performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Ensuring 3PL operational resources are in place to meet business forecast requirements.
  • Manage day to day operations ensuring that service and operational activities are delivered on time
  • Ensure all 3PL service reporting is issued in line with agreed timescales
  • Monitor storage utilization across the 3PL and requirements to ensure storage requirements are in place to meet forecast requirements.
  • Communicate resource and storage plans to internal stake holders to ensure continuation in business performance and delivery of the most optimum cost
  • Identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives that drive continued improvement in operating cost per case
  • Ensure the accuracy of 3PL invoices through the validation and reconciliation of invoices related to all operational activities.
  • Drive improved inventory accuracy across the 3PL, enforcing system hygiene, reduction in inventory loss and adherence to cycle / PI counts
  • Audit KPI performance ensuring accuracy of liability coding
  • Review 3PL SOPs on an annual basis and audit compliance to these standards
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives
  • Support IT developments which impact and involve the 3PL
  • This role with require weekly attendance at the 3PL depots

Measures of success:

  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting and of contractual KPI’s in line with agreed timescales
  • Delivery of 3PL KPI’s, documented improvement plans and root cause analysis in place for any performance issues
  • Analysis of performance metrics and data to identify improvements to service and cost reduction opportunities
  • Invoice accuracy and delivery of cost reduction initiatives
  • Alignment of inventory and implementation of inventory integrity improvements
  • Escalation of performance related issues to the distribution director and internal stakeholders
  • Successful delivery of internal and external IT developments

The success of this role is largely dependent on external 3rd parties and therefore managing these relationships will be a key to delivering success.  The role will require weekly attendance at the 3PL depots in order to develop strong working relationships whilst balancing Safety, Service and Cost.
