  3. FinTech payments: Overcoming a key challenge for Entrepreneurs by offering digital banking services to new businesses

Sleek launched in 2017 and now has around 15,000 customers across our offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and the UK.  We have around 500 staff with an intact startup mindset. We have recently raised Series B financing off the back of >70% compound annual growth in Revenue over the last 5 years.  Sleek has been recognised by The Financial Times, The Straits Times, Forbes and LinkedIn as one of the fastest growing companies in Asia. Backed by world-class investors, we are on track to be one of the few cash flow positive, tech-enabled unicorns.

Requirements

We are looking for an Accountant who is excited about the mission and outcomes outlined below.

This role is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK. However, because you will operate alongside and align daily with our Leeds office team, applicants must be UK-based with an existing, unrestricted right-to-work (no visa sponsorship provided).

Mission:
Manage a portfolio of clients, own their accounting needs end-to-end, and deliver an experience they'll actually appreciate. You’ll work in a team with access to bookkeepers, the tax team and payroll to ensure you can focus on delivering a world-class customer experience.

Outcomes:

    • Prepare year-end accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders.
    • File corporation tax and VAT returns accurately and efficiently.
    • Handle bookkeeping and personal tax workflows where required.
    • Act as the reliable, responsive and trusted voice for your client portfolio.

Must-Have Experience:

    • Qualifications: AAT qualification minimum, with 2+ years of post-qualification experience.
    • Technical Knowledge: Solid working knowledge of UK GAAP, corporation tax, VAT.
    • Tech Stack: Proficiency with Xero (or a proven readiness to master it quickly).
    • Track Record: Demonstrated experience independently managing year-end statutory accounts.

Please note that this is a full-time position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week. The core working hours for this role are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM UK time.

Behavioural fit is also important at Sleek, and we will be looking for candidates that have a proven track record of embodying the below attributes in their recent roles:

Ownership — You see things through. You move fast, you're reliable, and when something's off track, you fix it. Accountability isn't a buzzword for you; it's how you work.

Humility — You're genuinely open to feedback and learning from others. You know what you don't know. That mindset builds trust and collaboration.

Structured Thinking — We're complex (multiple services, multiple countries, multiple cultures). You can cut through noise, make sound judgements, and find solutions that balance what the business, team, and customers actually need.

The interview process

The successful candidate will participate in the below interview stages. We anticipate the process to last no more than 3 weeks from start to finish.

Whether the interviews are held over video call or in person will depend on your location and the role.

Video Interview / HR Screening:

A ~30 minute interview with the Talent Acquisition Team.
Technical Round:
A ~ 90-minute technical deep dive with the hiring team covering your most recent roles and hands-on experience.

Final Round:

A ~45 minute session with our UK Country Manager where they will dive into some of your recent work situations to understand how you think and work.

Three stages, typically wrapped up within 3 weeks. Video or in-person depending on your location.

Offer + reference interviews

We’ll make a non-binding offer verbally or over email, followed by a couple of short phone or video calls with references that you provide to us.

+++++

Requirement for background screening

Please be aware that Sleek is a regulated entity and as such is required to perform different levels of background checks on staff depending on their role.

This may include using external vendors to verify the below:

  • Your education
  • Any criminal history
  • Any political exposure
  • Any bankruptcy or adverse credit history

We will ask for your consent before conducting these checks.  Depending on your role at Sleek, an adverse result on one of these checks may prohibit you from passing probation.

By submitting a job application, you confirm that you have read and agree to our Data Privacy Statement for Candidates, found at sleek.com.
