Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced accounts assistant to manage day-to-day bookkeeping across the business and assist with reports. The role suits someone comfortable working with multiple accounting systems, maintaining accurate records, and supporting month-end processes in a multi-entity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate bookkeeping records across one or more entities.
Process sales and manage accounts receivable in particular debt collection.
Manage accounts payable by processing purchase invoices, credit notes, and payments.
Perform bank, balance sheet, and control account reconciliations.
Post journals, accruals, and prepayments.
Support month-end close and management accounts.
Prepare VAT returns and supporting schedules for review.
Prepare cashflow forecasts.
Work across multiple accounting systems and support process improvements.
Liaise with internal teams and external accountants as required.
Required Skills & Experience:
AAT Level 3/4 or equivalent
Proven bookkeeping experience in a commercial environment.
Experience using multiple accounting systems (e.g. Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite)
Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and VAT
High attention to detail and strong Excel skills
