About this role

Your team

Human Resources partners with the business to ensure we have the talent, leadership, culture and organisational capabilities needed to deliver for our clients and support long-term growth.

Our teams work across the full employee lifecycle, bringing together expertise in talent acquisition, talent and leadership development, employee relations, rewards, operations and business partnering. We work closely with leaders and managers to attract, develop and retain great talent, strengthen organisational effectiveness and create an environment where people can build successful careers and do their best work.

As the business evolves, Human Resources plays an important role in helping the organisation evolve with it. This includes building the skills and leadership capabilities we need for the future, using technology and AI to improve productivity and the employee experience, simplifying how we work, and helping teams and organisations adapt as business needs change.

Your role and impact

We are hiring a Admin Business Lead to support the Head of Human Resources for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), based in London. You will partner closely with this leader, managing complex administrative and business support needs while helping them direct their time and attention towards the organisation’s priorities.

You will bring sound judgement, accountability and strong communication skills to the role. You will be comfortable operating independently, solving problems proactively and building effective relationships across Human Resources, the administrative community and the wider firm.

Your responsibilities

In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex calendar thoughtfully, aligning the leader’s time with key priorities, preparing them for meetings and making recommendations on prioritisation, delegation and organisation.
  • Collaborate with administrative teams supporting the firm’s senior leaders, while coaching administrative colleagues and coordinating appropriate coverage for phone lines and in-office support.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the team’s priorities and strategy, adapting administrative support to help advance its goals.
  • Build and maintain a broad internal network, managing the effective flow of information and partnering with stakeholders to support alignment and achieve shared goals.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on relevant technology capabilities and BlackRock policies and procedures, adopting new practices and helping colleagues navigate changes to tools and processes.
  • Coordinate complex business travel, anticipate potential scheduling conflicts and process expenses in accordance with company policy.
  • Plan and deliver large meetings, town halls and off-site events, overseeing logistics, coordination and other planning details.
 Your experience
  • Demonstrated experience providing complex administrative or executive support to senior leaders.
  • Experience interacting regularly and professionally with executives or similarly senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example, uphold high ethical standards and act as a positive role model for other administrative professionals.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to act effectively when information is limited, assess potential risks, prioritise competing needs and escalate issues appropriately.
  • A track record of exercising discretion and independent judgement, with the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or changing situations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with strong interpersonal awareness.
  • Curiosity about technology and processes, with the ability to learn new approaches and help others adopt them.

Our benefits

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of employee benefits including: retirement investment and tools designed to help you in building a sound financial future; access to education reimbursement; comprehensive resources to support your physical health and emotional well-being; family support programs; and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities. We remain focused on increasing the impactful moments that arise when we work together in person – aligned with our commitment to performance and innovation. As a new joiner, you can count on this hybrid model to accelerate your learning and onboarding experience here at BlackRock.
