The Aladdin Client Business (ACB) encompasses all the client-facing functions of Aladdin and is the entity responsible for growing the Aladdin business with our external clients, implementing our solutions and managing the services across the relationship lifetimes.   

 

Role Description 

The Business Development team engages with prospective clients to understand strategic business challenges and deliver mission-critical solutions. 

The team is looking to hire a motivated Vice President with a proven track record of consultative and value-based selling within the alternative investments industry. This role sits at the forefront of private markets data and technology and will be responsible for selling our market-leading eFront (front-to-back office solution suite for alternative asset classes) and Preqin (premier provider of private markets data) offerings across a variety of industry verticals, with a particular focus on asset servicers (Fund Administrators) and asset managers (General Partners and Fund of Funds). Private markets are a rapidly growing and strategic focus at BlackRock and we seek dynamic and passionate individuals to seize this opportunity: 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the development and execution of go-forward strategies for private market data and workflow solutions, taking ownership of business development targets and initiatives to drive revenue growth. 

  • Cultivate and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities spanning multiple solutions, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and focus areas. 

  • Create sales plan and define addressable market segments to identify new business opportunities. 

  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective clients, understanding their needs and challenges to position our solutions effectively. 

  • Establish and maintain C-level relationships and introduce BlackRock senior executives to foster and expand these relationships both horizontally and vertically within the account. 

  • Act as a key stakeholder in the ongoing development of the broader business; providing appropriate feedback and insights to the executive team. 

  • Develop strong relationships across all groups within Aladdin to ensure an excellent client experience and convey client requirements to product teams as necessary. 

  •  Conduct research on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential clients to inform sales strategies and market positioning. 

Skills And Qualifications 

 

The ideal candidate will possess some combination of all the following: 

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services or technology sales with a proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets, both individually and in collaboration with others. 

  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex, multi-year sales strategies across global markets, with a focus on C-suite engagement and long-term relationship building. 

  • Exposure to other private markets technology providers/products such as investor portals, data rooms, portfolio monitoring, reporting tools, etc. 

  • Previous experience working with fund managers and asset servicers. 

  • Strategic vision to understand the direction of the alternatives industry, with an ability to foresee and act on emerging market trends, helping to shape our product strategy and direction. 

  • Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts for senior external and internal stakeholders 

  • Leadership experience in developing and scaling teams, providing mentorship and setting growth objectives 

  • Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing multiple complex initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed organization 

  • Ability to identify and develop new business opportunities while maintaining a deep focus on customer success and satisfaction 

  • Proven ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of large-scale initiatives while collaborating effectively across the business 

 

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$132,000.00 - USD$180,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model
