We’re looking for a specialist AI Lead to build and coordinate the transformation of Group Corporate Affairs (GCA) on an 18-month contract. JOB TITLE: Artificial Intelligence Lead (18 month FTC)

SALARY: £78,098 - £109,060 (dependant on location)

LOCATION(S): London, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Halifax, Leeds

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

About this opportunity

We’re looking for a specialist AI Lead to build and coordinate the transformation of Group Corporate Affairs (GCA) on an 18-month contract. This involves developing, delivering, and embedding agents and workflow automation, driving operational change by reimagining processes and implementing intelligent tools that unlock new ways of working. Accelerate upskilling and adoption to ensure all colleagues are equipped to maximise the value of these innovations and maintain robust governance throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set Strategic Direction: Define and deliver the AI strategy for GCA in close collaboration with the GCA Leadership Team, covering both adoption (upskilling, embedding AI in workflows, cultural change) and focusing on practical applications of agents, agentic AI, and PowerApps to streamline processes and enhance productivity.

  • Partner across squads, teams, and Centres of Excellence, working closely with Platform, Operations, and Communications colleagues to design and implement AI-enabled solutions that deliver measurable value. Ensure clear boundaries on technical ownership, with Platform leading sophisticated builds and this role focusing on strategy and adoption.

  • Establish clear frameworks for collaboration with Digital team (leading LLM optimisation), Brands, Marketing & Experience (BMX), Platform teams, and Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO), ensuring Digital team leads on optimisation, while this role drives agent development, workflow transformation, and broader upskilling and adoption.

  • Champion AI adoption and support skills development, ensuring our people are equipped, engaged, and empowered to use emerging technologies confidently and responsibly.

  • Drive cultural change, embedding AI into ways of working and fostering an attitude of innovation and continuous improvement. Identify and deliver solutions that address capability gaps in GCA, not just capacity.

What Success Looks Like

  • A clear, actionable AI strategy aligned to business priorities and regularly reviewed.

  • Deployment of new AI agents in 2026, each delivering measurable improvements in process efficiency or content quality

  • Detailed methods for collaboration and hand-offs with Digital, BMX, and other teams, with clear boundaries on channel and content optimisation.

  • Delivery of specific, measurable improvements in efficiency and workflow automation.

  • High levels of engagement and capability across Corporate Affairs, with AI embedded in day-to-day operations and creative processes.

  • GCA recognised, internally and externally, as a leader in responsible, innovative AI adoption and agentic transformation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Optimisation & Continuous Improvement

  • Find opportunities to optimise processes across GCA teams using AI and automation, applying data-driven insights to inform decisions.

  • Track and report on adoption, usage, and outcomes, sharing takeaways and guidelines across the division.

  • Develop a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and knowledge sharing.

AI Adoption & Embedding

  • Lead the design, rollout, and integration of AI tools and solutions across GCA in collaboration with the GCA Leadership Team, acting as a strategic partner and facilitator when solutions require build support from Platform teams. For complex projects, collaborate directly with Platform teams to ensure alignment, prioritisation, and successful and timely delivery

  • Identify colleague adoption barriers and develop targeted interventions to drive uptake and engagement.

  • Define impact metrics and benchmarks, iterating approaches to maximise value and impact.

Education & Upskilling

  • Ensure delivery of engaging education programmes, masterclasses, and resources to build AI literacy and confidence at all levels.

  • Act as a visible advocate for AI, demystifying new technologies and showcasing practical use cases.

  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development to embed AI skills into core capability frameworks.

Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with senior leaders, business partners, and technical teams to align AI initiatives with business priorities.

  • Facilitate workshops and forums to capture insights, address concerns, and build consensus.

  • Intersect with CDAO, AI Centre of Excellence and Platform teams to stay connected to central strategy and governance.

  • Develop compelling strategies, communications and storytelling to bring the AI journey to life across the GCA function and broader Group.

External Insight & Thought Leadership

  • Stay abreast of market trends and external standard methodology, bringing fresh ideas into the organisation.

  • Represent GCA at relevant forums and networks, internally and externally, sharing our story and learning from others.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience driving technology adoption and change in a complex, matrixed environment.

  • Deep understanding of AI technologies and agent/automation solutions (e.g. chatbots, predictive analytics, SharePoint, Power Apps, agentic AI) and their practical application in communications or corporate functions.

  • Strong background in designing and delivering tailored education or upskilling programmes for communications.

  • Excellent collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to engage across various organizational tiers.

  • Analytical approach, comfortable using data to guide decisions and measure impact.

  • Creative and curious problem solver, able to translate technical concepts into accessible, actionable insights.

  • Experience in communications, is highly desirable.
