Assistant Accountant - Aberdeen (AB12 3QA) - William Wilson

As an Accounts Assistant based in Aberdeen, you’ll be responsible for: 

  • Supporting 23 William Wilson branches across Scotland

  • Assist the Management Accountant & Finance Manager with weekly, monthly & ad-hoc reporting requirements

  • Processing branch banking and resolving any resulting queries

  • Coding & processing direct debits, standing orders & online payments

  • Preparation of bank reconciliations

  • Petty cash management

  • Recording of online payments and customer cheques received

  • Preparation of weekly and monthly reports for management

  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations

  • Maintenance of sundry sales ledger

This is a Full Time permanent position working 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 4.30pm with 1/2 hour lunch break.

  • Prior finance experience is preferred

  • Ability to prioritise competing demands on time

  • Experience of working to deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Flexibility – willing to learn a wide range of department procedures
