As an Associate Account Executive at Smartly, you'll play a hybrid role that combines Sales Development Representative (SDR) responsibilities with direct ownership of a Tier 4 account list across your assigned region(s). You’ll be responsible for supporting Account Executives in generating pipeline while also running full-cycle sales on your own set of small to mid-sized accounts.

As an Associate Account Executive, you will…Support Two Account Executives (50%)- Partner with senior AEs to drive outbound prospecting campaigns and nurture, qualify, and move inbound leads from SAL to SQL for their respective AEs.
- Conduct research and outreach via email, phone, and social channels to engage target accounts.
- Book and qualify discovery meetings with enterprise accounts that convert into high-quality opportunities across both a named account list and untouched net/new accounts.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and collaborate with sales and growth marketing to optimize outreach strategies.
- Manage the end-to-end sales cycle for your own Tier 4 accounts (mid-market advertisers) across your assigned territory with the assistance from your senior AEs.
- Develop and deliver tailored pitches that highlight how Smartly can solve key customer challenges across creative, media, and intelligence.
- Close business consistently while building long-term relationships.
- Track pipeline, forecasts, and revenue metrics in Salesforce and other tools.
- Have 1 to 3 years of experience in a sales, SDR, or hybrid sales role—ideally in SaaS, MarTech, or AdTech.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a passion for digital advertising, social media platforms (e.g., Meta, Snap, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.), and data-driven/programmatic advertising.
- Are a self-starter mindset with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and take ownership.
- Have familiarity with Salesforce and other sales tools like Outreach, UserGems, ZoomInfo, RingLead, and other prospecting and research tools.
- Experience working with or selling to marketing teams (digital, social, ecommerce, demand, creative, etc.).
- Knowledge of paid social, performance marketing, and/or creative automation.
- Understanding of consumer marketing initiatives and strategies deployed across verticals like Retail, Travel, Tech, Media, Finance, among others.
