Associate, Risk and Quantitative Analysis (RQA) London - Real Estate

Role Overview

This role sits within the RQA Real Assets risk team based in London and will support the oversight of private real estate portfolios and funds for BlackRock Private Markets. You will partner with the Real Estate business to provide independent risk oversight, risk advice, and quantitative analysis across portfolios and strategies. The role supports portfolio risk assessment, performance analysis, risk reporting, and the ongoing development of risk tools and frameworks used to oversee illiquid real estate investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support senior risk managers in providing independent risk oversight for real estate portfolios, ensuring alignment with client objectives, investment guidelines, and risk parameters.

  • Monitor portfolio risks by preparing risk reports and contributing to performance and key portfolio exposure analysis across real estate strategies.

  • Contribute to scenario analysis and stress testing, including macroeconomic and market factors relevant to real estate.

  • Work with portfolio managers and investment teams to identify key risk drivers and assess potential mitigants.

  • Maintain and enhance risk tools, models, and reporting by ensuring accurate data and supporting improvements to analytics.

  • Contribute to projects that strengthen the real estate risk management framework and improve the quality and consistency of risk oversight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, real estate, or a related field; Master’s preferred.

  • Experience in risk, investment, or analytics, with exposure to real estate or infrastructure.

  • Understanding of real estate investment fundamentals, including underwriting, valuation, leverage, and portfolio construction.

  • Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Python, R, or SQL; visualization tools a plus.

  • Excellent time management with good attention to detail

  • Effective teamwork whilst self-motivated, flexible with strong initiative

  • Strong analytical and communication skills

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
