The Compensation Team is responsible for promoting our Pay for Performance philosophy which directly connects individual, business and company results to employee compensation.

As a member of the Compensation Team at BlackRock, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment supporting a variety of partners to deliver effective solutions and advise on various aspects of BlackRock's compensation programs. You will provide operational execution excellence supporting different collaborators across the region, while also supporting the global team.

The role will be varied and include extensive analytics and modelling, partnering with colleagues in the Compensation Team and across HR. In this role, you will also become an expert user of the Compensation System providing support for end-users.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted partner, collaborate with various stakeholders across HR and the business to provide analytical support for global and regional compensation programs.

  • Partner with HR colleagues to provide compensation advice for new hires, transfers, and mobility packages.

  • Support the annual planning, preparation, and implementation of the year-end compensation process.

  • Use market and HRIS data to organise, analyse, interpret data to provide compensation insights.

  • Identify and implement process improvements, including improving documentation of key policies and processes.

  • Collaborate with the Compensation Team, HR, and partners to meet reporting requirements, such as gender pay gap reporting and regulatory filings.

  • Deliver training to HR colleagues and key stakeholders as needed.

  • Navigate complex problems independently by developing and leveraging positive relationships with stakeholders.

  • Contribute to firm-wide, regional, and business-specific initiatives, as required.

Desired Skills

  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills:

  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel required, e.g. nested “if” statements, formatting, analysing large quantities of data, etc.

  • Proficiency in Alteryx preferred but not required.

  • Attention to detail with high degree of accuracy and efficient whilst being able to see the bigger picture.

  • Ability to manage volumes of varied tasks / data and react positively in a pressurized environment.

  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) skills:

  • Convey complex concepts simply to various audiences in a professional, persuasive, credible and succinct manner.

  • Identify the most commercial response in any given situation.

  • Demonstrate discretion in handling confidential information.

  • Strong project and time management skills, with an emphasis on being proactive, organized, diligent, fast paced.

  • Possess a self-starter work ethic yet thrives in a collaborative environment.

  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and remain flexible and adaptable amidst change.

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).

  • Compensation experience or related field desired (financial services and / or consulting experience preferred).

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and pay structures in different jurisdictions across the EMEA region will be beneficial.

  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle, etc.) preferred.

  • Proven experience of building strong relationships across multiple levels of an organization.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
