Aladdin Data

Aladdin Data is responsible for enterprise data and analytics for BlackRock and its Aladdin clients. We also develop and operate the platforms that produce, distribute, and govern enterprise data and analytics. Our goal is a largely automated, cloud-native platform that radically transforms our data and analytics supply chain, making it faster, easier, and cheaper to discover, access, and leverage data and analytics for asset management.

 

The Data Product Delivery team (DPD) is responsible for defining data product strategy and roadmap, and stakeholder engagement across all Data Products. Product managers manage the product ideation process, receiving product ideas, gathering requirements and working with engineers to define user stories and acceptance criteria. They ensure development effort is aligned to the strategic roadmap of their product. They are also responsible for stakeholder engagement, communicating the product strategy, articulating the business benefits of all the work we do, and generate engagement and excitement around our plans. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support the intake of product ideas, assessing ideas within the defined SLAs.
  • Gather requirements and define user stories and acceptance criteria through collaboration with Engineering, in line with Agile best-practices.
  • Manage the product backlog ensuing it hits KPI targets.
  • Work with stakeholders including Data Stewards and the Program team to understand business priorities to correctly sequence development.
  • Actively promote the product roadmap to partners, articulating the benefits and key results we are delivering.
  • Provide periodic updates on the progress and outcomes of each PI to the Product team highlighting wins, risks and blockers.

 

Knowledge/Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services with exposure to business, middle office, or operations functions or experience in Agile Product management with a focus on ideation and backlog grooming.
  • Solid understanding of asset and risk management and financial instrument modelling across a reasonable subset of fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternatives
  • Ability to flexibly balance priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong financial and quantitative abilities with attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to stakeholders
  • Knowledge of data modelling and ETL techniques a plus
  • Exposure to agile methodology, data management, or service management, a plus
  • Exposure to asset management systems, preferably Aladdin, a plus
