BlackRock Aladdin Data is entrusted with maintaining all data integral to the investment decision process for BlackRock the house and our proprietary Aladdin® end-to-end investment platform. Aladdin Data closely partners with its stakeholders, such as Portfolio Management, Global Capital Markets, Relationship Management, Portfolio Compliance, Risk Analytics, Regulatory Reporting, and others, to ensure their business data needs are met accurately, timely, and efficiently.

We are looking for a high performing individual to join the Data Client Services team, which is a centralized group responsible for supporting Aladdin users for their queries regarding fixed income, equity, and alternatives products on the Aladdin Platform. We utilize our in-depth understanding of Aladdin and the investment management process to provide world-class customer service to our rapidly growing, global client base.
Responsibilities:- Support daily client/user requests related to Green Package analytics and help answer client’s investment related questions, e.g. VaR, Tracking Error, Risk models, etc.
- Engage in meetings with end-users of the Green Package product from all levels within the company from Portfolio and Risk Managers to Operations teams.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with portfolio and risk managers, financial engineers and different analytics teams while communicating and explaining Aladdin and Green Package capabilities to internal clients
- Taking the lead on Project work: engaging with other internal teams to think creatively and deliver innovative solutions to our complex client demands.
- Constantly evaluate our systems, processes, and procedures for inefficiencies, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Be a ‘Student of the Markets’ by following the global markets on a daily basis to understand how macro-economic factors can affect the Green Package analytics and portfolios management’s risk and investment decisions.
- Use technology to solve problems – we will teach you the skills you need to succeed, such as maneuvering databases.
- Guide and mentor junior team members by hosting office hours, knowledge sharing sessions and team trainings
- Have a Proactive mindset who looks for solutions and presents confidently to stakeholders
Knowledge/Experience:
- Degree in Finance, Engineering or Technology would be preferred
- Prior experience in an investment management firm or Aladdin Production is a plus
- Knowledge of financial products in Fixed Income, Equities and Derivatives, and familiarity with Risk analytics such as Durations, Spreads, Beta and VaR is a plus
- Demonstrated technical ability to use SQL, UNIX and/or programming languages like Python
- Excellent problem-solving, critical-thinking skills and an ability to identify problems, design and articulate solutions and implement changes
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Must be detail orientated and possess initiative
- Demonstrated success in a high-paced environment
- Positive attitude with proven track record around collaboration across the organisation
- 2-3 years experience within Blackrock or another Financial Organisation
