Audit Manager – Economic Crime and Operational Risk | S3 | Audit

Country: United Kingdom

Interested in part-time, job-share or flexible working? We want to talk to you!

Join our community.

In this critical role within our Economic Crime and Operational Risk Audit Team, you’ll be conducting independent audits of a wide range of areas including Branch and Back-Office Operations, HR, Procurement and all aspects of Economic Crime such as Sanctions, Due Diligence and Transaction Monitoring.

You’ll help deliver the audit plan by directing field work, testing and assessments and identifying and presenting significant findings and recommendations. You’ll mentor and help develop less experienced members of the team to ensure the audits are completed within agreed timescales and comply with quality requirements. You’ll liaise with stakeholders and other business areas and contribute to other activities including running reports, providing commentary and reporting findings to more senior management.

If you’ve performed a similar role previously, this could be a great opportunity to develop your career.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Leading audit and assurance activities, assessing the management of risks, and suggesting alternatives where appropriate

  • Supporting on-going business monitoring and annual risk assessment and audit plan processes

  • Providing coaching and support to Internal Audit colleagues during audit engagements

  • Building and maintaining relationships across Internal Audit and with key stakeholders across the business

  • Ensuring full compliance with management reporting requirements, policies, and frameworks

  • Demonstrating cross team collaboration, sharing learning, best practices, and feedback to contribute to overall team effectiveness

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience in an audit manager role within Financial Services

  • In depth knowledge of Economic crime controls such as Due Diligence, Sanctions and Transaction Monitoring

  • An understanding of risk and control frameworks and the mindset to identify and evaluate their effectiveness

  • Demonstrable experience of managing and leading elements of reviews and providing support to senior management and less experienced colleagues

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • An understanding of the financial services industry and its regulatory framework relating to AML, Sanctions and Bribery and Corruption

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to use different influencing styles

  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks to ensure quality delivery within defined timescales

What else you need to know:

This permanent role is based in Milton Keynes.

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

If you apply for this role, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office location. We’re happy to discuss specific working patterns and arrangement within this hybrid approach during the recruitment process.
If you’re interested in this role but with part time hours or a job-share we would still love to hear from you and discuss these.
