This role will be a 12-month fixed term contract. 

Location: Edinburgh, Hybrid.

As our ServiceNow Automation Engineer you will deliver the optimisation of existing and transition of new services into Computershare Technology Services Engineering department (CTO). You’ll be encouraged to bring new ideas, changes and drive the technology and team forward.

A role you will love

This is an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to discussions, generate new ideas and deliver value early and often throughout the process. You’ll be able to share your knowledge with other members of the build team to help meet sprint goals.

Other key responsibilities:

  • In-Depth cross-tool understanding of ServiceNow such as flow designer, user interface (UI), client scripts, business rules, or similar PaaS/SaaS toolsets.
  • Demonstrable and transferable knowledge of web technologies such as XML, HTML, Web Services, Java Script
  • Passion and energy to work in an IT operations environment in an always-up, always-available service
  • Experience of working within rapid deployment environments utilising Agile (particularly SCRUM methodology) or DevOPS software development
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices within the IT industry
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution practices and processes  
     

What will you bring to the role?

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, driven and passionate individual with meticulous attention to detail. You will have a good understanding of supporting tools and technologies such as LDAP, SSO and Identity Management, Automated Testing Frameworks.  

You will also have excellent oral and written skills with the ability to confidently engage with both, internal and external stakeholders

Some other key skills that you’ll have:

  • Strong foundational knowledge of the ServiceNow platform
  • Understanding/experience with Configuration Management, working knowledge of CMDB and configuration.
  • Experience with the CSM/ITOM/GRC Modules within ServiceNow
  • Understanding of SaaS/PaaS platforms
  • Logical thinking and problemsolving ability
  • Some coding fundamentals (e.g., Java)
  • Experience with agile methodologies
