As the first line of defense for JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC), Control Management identifies and manages operational, regulatory, and reputational risks. Within Asset & Wealth Management (AWM), Controls Strategy & Innovation (CSI) plays a key role in meeting client commitments and driving the strategic priorities that future-proof the AWM business in an ever-changing global landscape.

Reporting to the AI Controls Enablement program lead, part of a team of Controls professionals with deep technical AI expertise who sit at the intersection of the Business, and Technology. The team translates what AI is doing into language the business and Controls can act on, and prototypes automated controls and solutions that can be implemented at scale across AWM and beyond.

On any given day, as part of the AI Controls Enablement team, you might conduct a joint risk review with a Control Manager, bringing the technical depth while they own the controls finding; Act as co-developer, coach, and gatekeeper across the control, Technology and the Business — making the invisible visible and the technical actionable.

This role carries strong visibility to senior Controls leadership and to senior AWM and firmwide business stakeholders, positioning you to influence how the AWM Controls builds and deploys AI for the Business. It is a stimulating environment where a wide range of activities require engagement with cross-disciplinary teams to build creative, sustainable solutions.

Our people-first culture underpins everything we do. Here, you will have the opportunity to grow your career, master new skills for the future, and join a diverse, inclusive community of professionals who embrace teamwork and innovation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop AI tools alongside Citizen Developers and Technology, optimizing control frameworks, identifying risks sooner and working with business to solve problems, co-signing every tool submission before it is approved for deployment to colleagues.
  • Determine the right tool to solve the problem  from a cost effective mindset across AI and general automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Python, and other JPMorgan-authorized workflow, process, and decision automation tools) to prototype and scale automated controls.
  • Run scenario simulations and red-team exercises; establish best practices and standards for the review and deployment of AI tools across the AI Controls Enablement team.
  • Assist with coordination of the AI Controls Council, producing quarterly AI Controls Intelligence Report for senior leadership, including status of in-flight items, prioritization of new work, and solutions launched with impact — providing the role strong visibility across both Controls and business leadership.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Advanced experience in risk or control management within financial services, with a focus on compliance and operational risk mitigation
  • Technical AI fluency — a genuine understanding of how AI models work, including their assumptions, limitations, and failure modes.
  • Ability to translate complex, technical AI behavior into documented, escalatable, and actionable risk findings within a controls framework.
  • Capability to implement robust controls to safeguard business operations and meet critical regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in process and data analysis to enhance control environments and interpret business needs and trends.
  • Good Internal stakeholder management skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with senior Controls leadership and senior business stakeholders.
  • Good project management skills and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), with the ability to develop compelling and meaningful executive presentations.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Hands-on experience with AI/LLM tools, ideally on low-code or sanctioned development platforms, with an instinct for catching design risk early.
  • Experience with automation platforms (e.g., Python, UiPath, Pega, or other JPMorgan-authorized workflow, process, and decision automation tools).
  • Relevant AI and cloud certifications, (e.g.,  NVIDIA-Certified Associate: Generative AI and LLMs (NCA-GENL) or AWS Certified AI Practitioner certifications) preferred but not necessary.
  • Familiarity with the AI regulatory and policy landscape, model releases, and AI incident trends, with the ability to map them to controls implications and peer-institution intelligence.
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence business leaders in a meaningful and actionable manner to drive organizational change.
  • Ability to operate with minimal direction while consistently delivering results and making decisions aligned with organizational objectives.
