Back End Engineer (Java,Go,AWS)

We are looking for a Back End Engineer experienced with Java, Go, and AWS to join our engineering team and collaborate with cross-functional teams across the company on product development.

• Experience Level: Senior.
• Passion for building scalable and maintainable software—whether developing new features, creating APIs, or optimizing legacy code.
• 5+ years of experience in back-end development using Java (version 11 or later).
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Go (Golang) in production environments.
• Solid experience with Spring Boot and RESTful API development.
• Familiar with front-end frameworks such as React—you may not be an expert, but you can navigate and collaborate across the stack.
• Experience working with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL, and familiarity with ORMs such as Hibernate/JPA.
• Proficient in event-driven architectures and messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Amazon SQS.
• Experienced in designing and consuming OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience working in AWS environments using services like Lambda, Cognito, DynamoDB, and RDS.
• Comfortable working with containerized applications using Docker, and deploying them using CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of microservices architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience working in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
• Strong attention to code quality, including writing unit and integration tests and maintaining high test coverage.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of contributing to large, collaborative team projects.
  

• Experience with AWS ECS, Fargate, and infrastructure-as-code tools (like Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Experience in full-stack development where you’ve delivered back-end and occasionally pitched in on the front-end.
• Previous work on high-traffic, resilient systems built within microservices architectures.

• Leading, mentoring, and coaching both clients and Modus teammates from the comfort of home.
• Deep diving into customer needs and translating them into actionable requirements.
• Exploring new tech and continuously learning—because software is always evolving!
• Sharing your knowledge and participating actively in the community.

• Overlap with some EST hours daily is expected.
• Reliable high-speed internet is a must!
