Role Summary
EQ is seeking an experienced BPA (Bulk Purchase Annuities) Onboarding and Transition Manager, with a proven track record, to be a conduit between the EQ BPA Onboarding & Transition Team and the Insurer and their client to ensure seamless transition to Buy In or Buy Out and effective operational readiness.
You should have significant experience in the pensions industry and a strong technical pensions background, specifically in the area of BPA and the onboarding of schemes which have chosen to de-risk through a transaction with an Insurer.
Core Duties & Responsibilities
- To co-ordinate, project management of multiple BPA onboarding and migration plans and resources, as well as leading all BPA Onboarding and Migration activities in line with robust service level agreements, client, quality and risk requirements.
- Day to day management of a growing team of UK resources, as well as establishing additional capacity, processes, and structure, feeding into a right shoring growth strategy.
- Manage and ownership of the successful transition of BPA transactions through data cleanse/true-up and into live shadow administration.
- Liaising closely with the client to understand each BPA transaction and obtain implementation requirements, acting as the face of EQ Retirement solutions in respect of the onboarding and migrations you are responsible for
- Raising any new requirements and improvements that would impact the EQ BPA Framework through the appropriate internal channels.
- Work with the Head of BPA Onboarding and Transitions to ensure capacity forecasting is in place and maintained to accommodate the pipeline of new and migrating schemes, as well as being a senior leader in the team, and representing the Head of Onboarding & Transactions as an understudy
- Work closely with the BPA Implementation Analysts to ensure any bespoke processes are highlighted and implemented with relevant training and oversight provided to the operations area.
- Liaise with the Insurer’s Transition Managers (and their clients, where applicable) to ensure a seamless migration of the scheme into the Buy In and/or Buy Out product and handover of all in progress admin workload.
- Ensure all payroll related activity is completed for all new business schemes including all parallel payroll requirements and bespoke payroll items.
- Understanding all buy in to buy out requirements including all policy document templates capture all scheme nuances.
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
- Undertake analysis on implementation, migration, and transition projects for clients, leveraging their experience and understanding of complex scheme benefit specification and BPA onboardings and migrations.
- Analyse changes and enhancements to the BPA product functions within the Administrator Platform, with an ability to translate these into business requirements working closely with wider stakeholders.
- Liaise with client to define and understand requirements and estimate work.
- Accurately estimate and plan deliverables, as well as resources.
- Adhere to robust project estimating, planning, management reporting and control procedures, including maintain RAID logs and mitigating actions.
- Strong experience of BPA product and requirements is essential.
- A strong experience working in BPA market either as a BPA Transition Manager or closely aligned to a role that has this detailed knowledge and understanding.
- Proven track record of being involved in the end-to-end life cycle of scheme BPA onboardings and migrations that has delivered on time and to commercial objectives.
- Demonstrable process definition and continuous improvement experience, with an ability to manage, coach and upskill colleagues.
- Demonstrable software development capability
