About the role

We are looking for business analysts to join our Mission UK/Europe Digital and Technology team, providing creative digital and technology services to our team of underwriters. You will work with an amazing team to shape the future of our underwriting business.  

As a business analyst, you will be the link between our business teams to translate their requirements into viable solutions. 

What you'll do

  • Elicit requirements from business users by engaging with stakeholders, running workshops and capturing these in clear, deliverable user stories. 
  • Engage with technical and QA teams to see these user stories through the SDLC including analysis, build, functional testing, UAT and deployment. 
  • Conduct impact analysis to tease out both business and technical impacts of requested changes ensuring a smooth delivery without any nasty surprises. 
  • Become a trusted contact for business users – they need to know that you understand their business, including their pain points, and will deliver meaningful change for them. 
  • Assess change requests for business value/criticality and ensure that proposed solutions are sustainable and maintainable for Mission going forward. 
  • Manage internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure expectations are managed and stakeholders are satisfied with deliveries. 
  • Champion the Digital function within the Mission business, be an ambassador for the team and encourage cross-functional engagement. 

You will need to be comfortable working in a start-up, fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience required in insurance.  
  • Must have previous experience with policy admin software implementation. 
  • Worked using agile methodologies (e.g., Kanban, SAFe, XP, Scrum). 
  • Client facing experience is required 
  • Proven success in business requirements gathering, design and development proper documentation for prioritization within the overall roadmap and technology direction 
  • Demonstrated ability in business facilitation and effective use of project management techniques/tools. 

Skills/Knowledge

  • Agile methodologies and tools – experience in using Agile and working in an Agile program. 
  • Insurance knowledge - Understand the commercial insurance quote and bind process in detail with a focus on underwriting, distribution, rating and financials. 
  • Technology - Working knowledge of insurance technology (policy admin systems in particular) and how an integrations between different systems is achieved. 
  • Communication - Excellent communication and collaboration skills required, to effectively work with a variety of partners. Be confident in presenting, running workshops, writing documentation. 
  • Must enjoy a startup environment, we are a small team and every team member makes a massive difference.  
  • A positive, can-do attitude. Self-motivated and able to prioritise your time assertively. 
  • Have an analytical, problem-solving mindsolving mindset. You need to be able to cut through the complex requests from our users and distill these into the essential, valuable changes to deliver.t. You need to be able to 

Additional Information
This is a remote position. Planned, in-office activities may be required on occasion (typically 2-4x per year).

You must live in the UK and be authorized to work in the UK without requirement of employment sponsorship/visa.
