The Opportunity

“It is an exciting time to work for FICO. We have been named a leader in the growing market of digital decisioning platforms. In this role you will join a growing team of engineers implementing advanced decision support applications with multiple deployment options spanning public cloud, FICO managed cloud and customer data centres. You will need to be an experienced back end or full-stack engineer interested in the challenges of creating and deploying production-grade cloud applications based on the latest analytic decisioning technologies. Your work will have significant visibility and be crucial to delivering the growth goals of the business.” – Hiring Manager.

What You’ll Contribute

  • Significant designing and coding of our market leading decision support applications.
  • Expertise in best practices for cloud deployment and coaching of others on your team.
  • Build in quality and automated testing at all stages of development and deployment.
  • Expert technical leadership and advice on cloud technology, supporting Sales and Product Support in customer facing engagements.
  • Understand and apply our architectural strategy and standards whilst solving complex integration challenges.
  • Adhere to the highest levels of agile development and quality practices.
  • Participate in the complete lifecycle of your software services from inception to L3 customer support.
  • Embrace a team culture of excellence and coach junior colleagues to excel in their roles.

What We’re Seeking

  • Extensive experience in a hands-on engineering role developing commercial software.
  • Expert knowledge of the Java programming language.
  • Expert knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and container-based architectures.
  • Experience developing commercial software for at least 1 public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP etc.).
  • Experience working as part of a development team using agile scrum methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent experience gained in a commercial environment.
  • Experience with front-end development would be an advantage.
