Communications Coordinator

Crawley/Green Park/Glasgow - Hybrid module

Purpose of the Role

Deliver high-quality external communications in support of Thales in the UK’s campaigns and account plans, covering campaign execution, content creation, media support, digital delivery and event amplification.

The role sits within a small team and will flex across sectors where demand requires, but its core job is consistent: delivering the communications activity that supports campaign and account objectives.

Job Overview:

Responsible for delivering communications aligned with campaign and account plans, supporting external messaging across digital, media, and event channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute content for web, social media, media relations, and customer communications.
  • Manage channel tactics including PR, digital presence, and event communications.
  • Prepare media briefings and coordinate with agencies and internal teams.
  • Maintain editorial calendars and support measurement/reporting of communication activities.

Decision-Making:

  • Handle daily content and channel execution within plans.
  • Escalate risks and approval needs.
  • Monitor media coverage, social engagement, and KPIs.
  • Ensure timely delivery and budget adherence.

Skills:

  • Strong writing and digital content skills.
  • Project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Data analysis and adaptability across sectors.
  • Knowledge of defence, security, and technology is a plus.

Security Clearance Requirement:

Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.

To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.
