This internship sits within Elsevier’s global Technology Division, made up of over 2,000 technologists working closely with researchers, clinicians, and partners around the world. Working in small, agile squads, the team uses modern technologies, data science, and analytics to shape insights that support customers and enable innovation. From supporting faster scientific collaboration to improving how healthcare professionals learn and access information, the work of the Technology Division helps turn knowledge into action and supports better decisions and outcomes every day. 

About the internship:   

This internship is an opportunity to join Elsevier’s Technology Division as a Tech Community & Communication Intern, supporting the Global Technology Team and working closely with the Global Community Manager, who will act as your supervisor and mentor. The role involves contributing to day-to-day team activities, supporting projects and communications, helping with the organisation of events, and taking ownership of smaller pieces of work where appropriate. You will work as part of an international team, collaborating with colleagues across technology, learning and development, and community enablement, while also managing some tasks independently. 

The internship offers practical experience in how a global technology organisation operates and supports its people and is well suited to someone interested in community engagement, project coordination, internal communications, and learning and development, with a genuine interest in technology and engineering environments. This role is important in helping the Technology Division stay connected, informed, and supported as it continues to grow and evolve. 

 
 
Responsibilities:   

  • Support the Community Enablement team in implementing initiatives to build the culture and community of the Elsevier Technology Team. 

  • Support with administrative tasks and respond to queries for the Technology Team. 

  • Support the project management of aligned tasks and communications for the Technology Team. 

  • Support the Enablement team in the organization of internal and external events, including large international Technology events. 

  • Be part of an international team and support the global roll-out of onboarding. 

  • Manage smaller, ad hoc projects in line with the Community Enablement, Communications or Learning and Development 

Skills or experiences:   

  • Native or near-native English speaker, 

  • University Master’s or Bachelor Student currently studying Business/Communications/Marketing/Computer Science  

  • Drive to follow-through on tasks until completion; hands on mentality;  

  • Willingness to learn and ability to work under (time) pressure;  

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team;  

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail;  

  • Computer literate (MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel), open to using new online tools;  

  • Good communication, written and verbal with strong inter-personal skills;  

  • Previous experience working in a corporate environment is an advantage;
