Job Responsibilities:
Position Overview
Magna Corporate R&D Intern program provides students the opportunity to be key players within the organization. We seek a self-motivated intern to support our research team in projects focused on Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Image segmentation, and Pose estimation to contribute to new technology development in localization and 3D scene understanding/reconstruction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze various diffusion models for image generation, including foundational and recent advancements in the field.
  • Design, implement, and test diffusion-based algorithms to generate high-quality synthetic images.
  • Evaluate the realism and quality of generated images using quantitative and qualitative metrics.
  • Document research findings, methods, and results to support ongoing and future projects.
  • Generate the synthetic images using the latest algorithm for Magna Datasets
  • Collaborate with team members on related tasks and participate in research discussions to share insights and improvements.


Qualifications:

  • Programming experience with Python/ C++/MATLAB, ROS/ROS2
  • Proficiency in relevant machine learning libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Good hands-on experience with computer vision algorithms and libraries, such as Open CV
  • Development experience in a Linux environment (Ubuntu is preferred)
  • Self-starter and able to work in a collaborative and result-oriented environment.


Education / Experience

  • BS/MS in computer engineering/science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or Robotics


Special Knowledge / Skills:

  • Experience with DL/ML is required.
  • Experience with research on image generation, especially synthetic images, is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of programming techniques, especially for parallel architectures, is a plus.
