Role Purpose

Wood Mackenzie has an exciting, newly created role opportunity for a Content & Social Media Channel Specialist to join our fast-paced, dynamic global Marketing team. This newly created role is perfect for someone passionate about digital marketing, social media, and content management. You will help drive innovation and maximize global marketing opportunities, elevating our owned marketing channels and ensuring our content aligns with the brand vision.

You’ll be responsible for managing social media channels, creating and curating content, and supporting the production of thought-leadership content like Horizons, The Edge, and Energy Pulse. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive and eager-to-learn individual to grow in the field of content marketing and social media strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media Channel Strategy & Management (50%)

  • Help evolve and enhance Wood Mackenzie’s social media presence on platforms like LinkedIn, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter).
  • Work with growth marketing and thought leadership teams to implement social media best practices.
  • Assist in using Oktopost and other social media management tools to support platform governance and optimization.
  • Partner with the creative team to ensure content reflects the brand’s voice, using visual and written guidelines.
  • Help develop live-posting strategies for events and curate event content for broader marketing initiatives.
  • Track platform trends and algorithm changes to ensure content strategy remains relevant and effective.

Content Development & Promotion (50%)

  • Work closely with the content team to create and distribute thought-leadership materials like articles, videos, and graphics.
  • Help develop content strategies to showcase Wood Mackenzie’s expertise and leadership in the industry.
  • Track brand mentions and trending topics, assisting in identifying opportunities for engagement or potential risks.
  • Help ensure that all content aligns with and accurately represents the Wood Mackenzie brand.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of major social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube) and their best practices.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities, with the capacity to adapt messages for various audiences.
  • Experience working with teams or stakeholders to deliver digital content that supports broader marketing goals.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and eager to develop new skills.
  • A creative mindset to help bring fresh ideas and a unique perspective to the team.
  • Ability to work with social media tools (Oktopost, Sprout, Hootsuite, etc.).
