Join us - and help us fulfil our mission to close the world’s digital skills gap.

Key Skills:

  • Architectural Comprehension & Alignment: Proactively understand data architectural designs for data services, applications, and persistence layers, ensuring all data models and schemas align with the overall architectural vision, technology choices, and data flow principles.
  • Design Influence & Feedback: Participate in design reviews to provide data modelling expertise and constructive feedback on proposed new services or application architecture, highlighting potential data impacts on scalability, performance, and integrity.
  • Model Creation & Maintenance: Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using industry-standard tools (e.g., ERwin, PowerDesigner), covering relational and NoSQL modelling techniques.
  • Requirements Translation: Work closely with stakeholders to understand business processes and translate them into efficient data structures and database designs.
  • Data Landscape Documentation: Contribute to the overall documentation of the enterprise data landscape, mapping how data flows between different applications and services as defined by the underlying architecture.
  • Data Service Support: Contribute to the design of data persistence layers and define data schemas for API documentation (e.g., OpenAPI specifications).
  • Pipeline Code Integrity: Experience using SOLID principles when designing and reviewing code for data transformation pipelines and code-based data models ensuring high code quality, testability, and maintainability.
  • Performance & Optimisation: Evaluate and optimise model designs for performance, scalability, and storage efficiency, including indexing, partitioning, and denormalization strategies, always considering the target architecture (e.g., cloud platform or service fabric) in your choices.
  • Technology Adaptation: Model data structures across various environments including relational databases, NoSQL stores, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).

Experience:

  • Proven experience in data modelling, architecture, or database design
  • Proficiency with modelling tools such as ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar
  • Strong understanding of relational and NoSQL data structures
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and metadata management
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms and modern data ecosystems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
