As a KDB+ Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the time-series software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Manage Data: Handling large volumes of time-series data, ensuring data integrity, and optimizing data storage.
- Develop Queries : Writing and optimizing queries in Q, the programming language used with KDB+, to extract and manipulate data efficiently.
- Maintain Systems : Assisting in the maintenance and monitoring of KDB+ systems to ensure high availability and performance.
- Analyze Data : Collaborating with analysts and other stakeholders to provide insights and support decision-making processes.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues related to data processing and system performance.
- Document : Maintaining clear documentation of processes, queries, and system configurations.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Q language concepts and expanding applied experience
- Proficiency in Q: Strong understanding of the Q language and its application in querying and data manipulation.
- Database Knowledge: Familiarity with database concepts, particularly those related to time-series data.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Communication: Good communication skills to work effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
