As a Software Engineer III - KDB+ at JPMorgan Chase within the technology product development team, you will be an integral part of an agile team responsible for enhancing, designing, and delivering the time-series software components of our cutting-edge technology products. Your role will involve executing software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system. This position offers the opportunity to gain the skills and experience necessary for growth within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Design, develop and support the enterprise market data time-series platform.
- Design and develop data management frameworks to ensure high quality time-series data.
- Develop data solutions across both real-time and end of day business needs.
- Contribute to the development of our common frameworks written in Python.
- Develop scalable real-time processing solutions in an agile methodology.
- Partner with QR stakeholders to capture requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Partner with the application support teams to maintain and support the platform.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Advanced KDB+/Q skills concepts and proficient applied experience
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of time-series databases, understanding of data management, and real-time data processing.
- Expertise in market data feeds in financial services
- Experience with market data venue and vendor data platforms.
- Advanced knowledge of architecture, design, and business processes
- Ability to work collaboratively across global, cross-functional teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
- Proficient in Unix/Linux and OS level tools
- Experience delivering big data solutions, with knowledge of one or more financial market sectors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Terraform/AWS deployments preferred
- Direct feed experience a plus in market data
