Job Description

  • JOB TITLE: Cyber Threat Operations Analyst
  • SALARY: £35,340
  • LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Sighthill North
  • HOURS: Full-time
  • WORKING PATTERN: We work 12-hour shifts as part of a 24x7 shift rotation to keep the bank safe around the clock, and do not currently offer part-time or flexible working options. However, we do operate a hybrid working model whereby 60% of your time is spent at home and 40% in our Edinburgh office.

Join our dynamic team as a Cyber Threat Operations Analyst in our 24/7 Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) and play a pivotal role in safeguarding our digital assets against ever-evolving threats.

The Role:

 Being an Analyst means actively participating in real-time monitoring, threat detection, and incident response activities to guarantee the smooth and efficient running of operations. Advanced security tools and techniques will be applied to safeguard our organization's digital assets and infrastructure from malicious activities!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Respond: Undertake continuous monitoring and triaging of security alerts to resolve our response to potential threats.
  • Incident Management: Support incident response efforts, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members across the business to ensure comprehensive threat management
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process enhancement and contribute to the development of our security protocols.
  • Threat hunting: Proactively search for indicators of compromise (IOCs) and signs of malicious activity within the network

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience in a cyber security operations role, with a solid grasp of the threat landscape, threat hunting and incident response methodologies
  • Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and its application in threat detection
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to make quick, informed decisions.
  • Superb communication and team working abilities

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM)
