Your new role
In your new role as a Data Analyst at i6, you will play a crucial part in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making across the business. Working with a variety of data sources, you will implement robust data models, ensure the quality and integrity of our data landscape, and contribute to a data-driven culture. This role includes some data engineering responsibilities to support our data infrastructure.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and scalable data models using dbt and writing complex SQL queries to extract and transform data. The role involves developing insightful data visualisations and dashboards, defining data quality metrics, and collaborating with stakeholders to translate their needs into analytical solutions. A key aspect is contributing to and maintaining our data infrastructure following best practices, including version control with Git/GitHub and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable data models using dbt.
- Write complex and optimised SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data.
- Develop insightful and user-friendly data visualisations and dashboards using tools such as Looker or Power BI.
- Define and implement data quality metrics, monitoring systems, and processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple domains to understand their data needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Document data models, processes, and analyses clearly and comprehensively.
- Contribute to and maintain our data infrastructure following best-practice coding standards, including version control with Git/GitHub and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
- Work in an Agile team, using tools such as JIRA for task management and Confluence for documentation.
- Deliver analytical solutions to agreed timelines and ensure you raise any issues early with your manager.
- Contribute to the team's CI/CD pipelines for automated data testing and deployment.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple domains to understand data needs.
- Ensure data accuracy and reliability by defining and implementing data quality metrics and processes. Adhere to best-practice coding standards, including version control with Git/GitHub.
Who you are
- As a guide a Data Analyst at i6 will have 3-5+ years of experience but we are keen to hear from individuals outside of this range if you have the experience needed for this role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases.
- Solid understanding of data modelling principles (e.g., star/snowflake schema) and data warehousing principles.
- Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modelling.
- Experience in defining and implementing data quality metrics and a strong understanding of data quality concepts.
- Proven track record of creating insightful, user-friendly dashboards using Looker, Power BI, or similar.
- Familiarity with coding best practices, including version control using Git/GitHub and exposure to CI/CD workflows.
- Experience working in an agile environment and using tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Understanding of NoSQL and unstructured data.

- We are a remote first company with offices in Farnborough and Manchester. A number of our team are fully remote and some teams are primarily remote, typically meeting in the office once a month.
