1. To assist the Depositary Operations Manager in managing the Operational service delivery for SSTL clients.

  • The purpose of the role is to assist the Depositary Operations Manager in executing the SSTL strategy for Operational service delivery, for maintaining and improving cost profile of the  Operations Team, and for ensuring that Customer Service and information delivery standards are met or exceeded. Deputise for Depositary Operations Manager as appropriate.

The main responsibilities will include: -

  • Play a key role within the SSTL Operations team (including all aspects of Operational tasks: Due Diligence; CASS; UK Regulated; and Private Equity Real Estate), with the responsibility for Service Delivery.
  • Participate in day to day interactions with clients, including participation in regular service reviews and other meetings with Operational staff and SSTL management as appropriate
  • Build, nurture and manage robust and sustainable relationships with clients
  • Support our client base in matters of a technical or regulatory nature ensuring that at all times they have a positive impression of SSTL
  • Mitigate operational risk across current and prospective client base
  • Ensure operation in accordance with applicable regulations, Corporate Standards and HR policies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including but not limited to COLL, FUND and CASS rulebooks (as related to UCITS V and AIFMD)
  • Play an active role in delivery of change including business transformation
  • Oversee breach correspondence with Managers/ACDs as applicable
  • Participate in the various internal committees, if required to do so.
  • Participate in Due Diligence reviews as required and ensure oversight reports are produced in a timeous manner
  • Support the role of Outsourcing Engagement Manager (OEM) for any Outsourcing and third party vendor engagements
  • Complete all Mandatory training in advance of specified deadlines
  • Participate in relevant regulatory working groups and committees as convened bringing Subject Matter Expertise as required
  • Ensure that any regulatory changes impacting the Operations team are implemented in a timely manner with resulting control amendments and staff communications/procedural updates are undertaken
  • Participate in the review of any losses/errors with the Depositary Operations team to ensure each is documented correctly and remedial action taken to ensure no repetition and ‘lesson learned’
  • Participate in SSTL’s specific projects and wider State Street projects and initiatives as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Level of education / specific qualifications:

Degree Level or Equivalent Work experience (minimum 5 years trustee or related industry experience)

Skills and experience – interpersonal, numerical, problem-solving, analytical etc.

  • Knowledge of risk and control methodologies and practices
  • Working knowledge of the funds Industry and relevant regulations and practices
  • Appropriate experience of technical advice provision
  • Cognisance of all current and developing Financial Services regulation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation skills
