We are looking for you, if you:

  • are enthusiastic data driven engineer who loves metrics,
  • have 5+ years of experience in operational environment,
  • have experience in platform engineering,
  • have solid understanding of operating, maintaining and developing against NoSQL/Low Latency Data Store (LLDS) Solutions link e.g. Cassandra,
  • have ability to use tools scripting languages like Python, Bash to automate daily tasks,
  • have good understanding of the Linux operating system (Rhel and Debian),
  • have knowledge of CI/CD tools from Microsoft Azure and configuration management tools like Ansible,
  • are focused on delivering quality above quantity,
  • are customer focused and proactive.

 

English level - B2

 

You'll get extra points for:

  • knowledge of Java,
  • knowledge of other scripting languages,
  • knowledge of other databases,
  • knowledge of tools like: Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus,
  • strong conceptual understanding of the big picture.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • take ownership of Cassandra Keyspace as a Service that the squad provides to tenants,
  • understanding the detailed technical behaviour of your system under normal and peak loads,
  • life cycle maintenance of the Cassandra and Linux stack,
  • automating the onboarding process for new Cassandra users,
  • continuously monitor and improve efficiency, quality and time-to-market through in-depth automation of building, testing and deployment,
  • deliver high quality support and training for data-modelling and application design to users,
  • take part in our 24/7 standby schedule - once a week,
  • a large part of this function will be customer support and owning the platform, knowing what is happening and communicating with our clients.

 

Information about the squad:

The Minions squad provides Cassandra Keyspace as a Service (KaaS) on our multitenant and dedicated Cassandra clusters. KaaS is provided as a complete journey, our centre of expertise provides continued support and advice to teams using Cassandra. The Minions squad strives to be ahead of the game by keeping a close eye on all the metrics and logs to detect possible interruptions before they happen. Tools like Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus are essential in our strive to provide a performant and resilient platform.
