The Role:

M&G is committed to enhancing our digital channels to engage with our customers and advisers.  We’re hiring for a stand-out individual to bring to life our content engagement across our digital channels, with a primary focus on social media.

As a business with 177 years of heritage and looking after over £300bn of assets on behalf of our clients, we are now in the next phase of growing our business.

As digital & social content lead you will work across all of our business functions to create, curate, and deliver impactful digital communications. You will collaborate with our marketing and content strategy teams to ensure our digital communications, particularly social media, provoke conversations that engage retail investors and financial advisers.

While knowledge and experience of working within financial services will be useful, experience in other sectors that share the challenges of delivering creative, authentic and engaging conversations in a regulated environment is equally valuable for the brand-building, thought leadership and spokesperson profiling we need.

We’re looking for an individual to drive the development of the content narrative, someone who can work across our functions to curate and deliver impactful communications.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the content lifecycle development process, developing engaging content across our core social media channels, and working with our marketing channel teams to integrate key messaging back into our website.
  • Collaborate in conjunction with the Head of Content, to implement content activation to optimise key audience messaging.
  • Develop the content creative process, with an ability to not only create impactful copy, owning the creative process on content across copy, image and video.
  • Collaborate with UX, UI and Creative colleagues to build powerful and visually appealing infographics, video and headline design.
  • Own and manage the content calendar, ensuring it aligns with thematic research, thought leadership and go to market messaging.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content plan aligned with business objectives to amplify messaging across our social media channels.
  • Develop executive track communications, to amplify the messaging of key spokespeople, and develop a persona narrative for individuals.
  • Work with the Social Media & Analytics Lead to create reporting that drives decisions needed for digital communication success.
  • Ensure all content is compliant, on-brand and aligned with M&G values and strategy.
  • Promote the use of social media channels across M&G Life business, maintaining policies, processes, delivering training and acting as a point of support and expertise.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • You have experience working in Financial Services, or similar industry where compliance to content standards is critical to deliver effective communications.
  • You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write with a clear, concise and engaging purpose.
  • You know how to develop and implement effective content strategies across a range of social channels.
  • You’re a creative thinker, someone who can generate innovative ideas and convey them to get everyone to buy-in to your vision.
  • You’re able to visually storyboard concepts, aligned to content execution and can brief your ideas to generate artwork, video or infographics to maximise content narrative.
  • You’re effective at time management, and can balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • You’re autonomous in managing your workload and taking decisions whilst ensuring you engage across teams with your communication.
  • You have a wider appreciation of the connected digital ecosystem, from SEO to Websites, and you can work across teams to align content messaging.
  • You are comfortable interacting at all levels across the organisation.
