About the role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance to play a central role in strengthening Learning Pool’s financial operations and supporting the company’s continued growth. This is a business-critical leadership role focused on improving operational efficiency within the finance function, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring the organisation has the financial insight and discipline required to support both organic and acquisitive growth.
Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the Executive Leadership Team (“ELT”), private equity stakeholders, and senior leaders across the organisation, the Director of Finance will play a key role in shaping financial strategy, implementing scalable financial systems, and driving high-quality decision making across the business.
The role will oversee core financial planning, reporting, and performance analysis across multiple entities, geographies, and revenue streams, while also helping the organisation scale its finance function to support continued expansion.
What you will be doing
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the CFO, ELT, and investors to support financial strategy, long-term planning, and key strategic initiatives including acquisitions and growth investments.
-
Oversee cash management, forecasting, budgeting, KPI reporting, and scenario modelling across the organisation, ensuring leadership teams have clear and actionable financial insight to support decision making.
-
Drive the evolution and automation of finance processes, including the continued optimisation of NetSuite and supporting systems to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting capability.
-
Lead and develop the finance team, including the core Finance function in Derry and the remote Financial Control team, building capability, accountability, and scalable operating rhythms.
-
Work closely with other Senior Management Team (“SMT”) members including GtM, Engineering and Product.
-
Lead financial analysis across both SaaS and professional services revenue streams, including ARR waterfalls by product, product profitability, sales efficiency, CAC, GRR, NRR, operating costs, and EBITDA performance.
-
Play a key role in acquisition activity, including financial due diligence, integration of acquired businesses, system migration, and post-acquisition financial reporting.
-
Deliver high-quality financial reporting and insight to the executive team, Board, and investors, supporting capital allocation decisions, investment appraisal, and performance management.
-
Ensure robust financial governance, controls, and reporting standards are maintained across all markets and legal entities.
-
Manage audits across group and tax compliance
