CFA Institute is seeking two newly created Director, Learning Content roles to lead the design, authorship, and delivery of world-class curriculum materials for the CFA Program and related credentialing products. In this individual contributor profile, you will combine deep subject expertise with editorial and pedagogical excellence - ensuring content is rigorous, engaging, and aligned with evolving industry practice. Working closely with internal partners and a network of global contributors, you’ll help define the future of how the investment community learns.
What You’ll Do
Lead the end-to-end development of assigned curriculum areas, from research and drafting through peer review, editing, and publication.
Translate complex finance and investment topics into accessible, outcome-driven learning for a global, multilingual audience.
Develop and review learning outcome statements, assessment items, and formative tools that support exam readiness.
Manage and mentor a network of external authors, reviewers, and subject matter experts to ensure consistency, clarity, and academic rigour.
Collaborate with colleagues across Exams, Practice Analysis, Product, and Publishing to maintain alignment between learning objectives and testing standards.
Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement using data, learner feedback, and performance insights.
Contribute thought leadership on best practice in finance education and represent CFA Institute in selected academic and professional forums.
What We’re Looking For
Advanced degree in finance, economics, or a related discipline required; PhD preferred.
Extensive professional and/or academic experience in finance or a related field, ideally combining applied industry work with university-level teaching or authorship.
Professional financial designation required (e.g., CFA, CIPM, CAIA, CPA/ACA/ACCA, CMA, CFP, CQF, or FRM); CFA Charterholder strongly preferred.
Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in one or more CFA Program curriculum domains, supported by evidence of authorship, review, or advanced instruction.
Proven ability to develop high-quality educational content, including university-level materials or industry publications, with strong attention to clarity and rigour. Previous work experience as a CFA Program author, reviewer, contributor, or CFA exam writer preferred.
Familiarity with contemporary programming tools and languages (Excel, R, Python, SQL) and data services (FactSet, Bloomberg) used in financial services required.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, able to interpret data and apply sound judgment to complex decisions.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across global, cross-functional teams.
Strong project management discipline, balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality work to deadline.

At CFA Institute, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring process. In compliance with wage transparency laws in many of the jurisdictions in which we recruit, we provide the following information regarding compensation for this position: Expected salary range: US $130,000-$170,000 / UK £90,000-£110,000 per year. All salary ranges are subject to adjustment based on experience, education, location and other factors relevant to the position. Additional benefits include eligibility for an annual incentive bonus, a 12% employer contribution to a 401(k)/pension plan, and a comprehensive medical benefits package.
