We De-risk Assumptions: We are not beholden to ideas. We have goals and believe everything beyond that is a series of hypotheses to validate. We constantly ask ourselves, "What's the most important thing I should be working on right now? How do I confirm or reject that assumption as fast as possible?". We rarely have timelines/deadlines and constantly take in new information and adjust our priorities accordingly. The Role
We are searching for a Director, Product Design to lead the strategic vision for design, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs to create innovative, market-leading experiences. In this role, you will champion design excellence across the product lifecycle, refining processes to enhance efficiency, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business solutions into intuitive, user-centric designs. As a key leader, you will lead a team of talented product designers (staffed 1:1 with PMs) to elevate the quality, clarity, and impact of our mobile-first experience.

Location: Candidates must permanently and currently reside in the United States. Employees are not required to work in the office or relocate to Lincoln, Nebraska, for this opportunity, but occasional travel to HQ will be required.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Define and advocate for a forward-thinking design strategy that aligns with business objectives, leveraging market insights and user research.
- Ensure deep user insights and usability best practices shape every aspect of product development, creating market-leading and delightful experiences.
- Oversee the entire design lifecycle, ensuring products are intuitive, engaging, and visually compelling while maintaining high design standards.
- Develop and refine processes that enhance efficiency and consistency, reinforcing quality and innovation across all projects.
- Bridge design, product management, engineering, and marketing to translate business challenges into elegant, user-centric solutions.
- Manage, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing design team, fostering creativity, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- 5-7+ years of experience in leading design for complex B2B or B2C SaaS products or platforms.
- 5+ years of experience managing and scaling design teams (10-20+ designers)
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; establishes strong partnerships with Product, Engineering and GTM teams.
- Data-driven decision making; experience leveraging user research, A/B testing, and data analytics to influence design and product roadmaps.
- Design system development; experience leading the creation and evolution of design systems across multiple teams.
- Ability to communicate with C-suite executives and investors, justifying design decisions with business impact.
- A continuous growth-mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving.
- A knack for creativity and innovation, bringing fresh ideas to the table and solving complex problems.
- Familiarity with or prior experience suing the set of practices outlined in Continuous Discovery Habits by Teresa Torres.
- Experience designing consumer-facing products.
- Demonstrated comfort with AI technologies and tools, with the ability to thoughtfully integrate AI into the design process to enhance user experiences and team efficiency.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience driving a design vision at a fast-scaling startup or through major growth phases.
- Background in AI/ML-powered design, voice interfaces.
- Past work at FAANG, top-tier SaaS (e.g., Figma, Stripe, Shopify, Notion, Atlassian), or a high-growth startup.
Benefits & Compensation
This is a salaried position at CompanyCam. Our starting salary for this role is $183,000 - $235,000 per year and is based on experience. We also offer meaningful equity and other benefits.
