Continuum Industries is revolutionizing sustainable infrastructure development with our SaaS solution, Optioneer. Since our inception in 2018, we’ve powered the planning of over 30,000 miles of transmission infrastructure spanning underground and subsea power cables, overhead lines, and hydrogen and water pipelines. Optioneer helps major organisations across the globe to build critical infrastructure faster, with greater confidence. Optioneer is already used by enterprise infrastructure organisations such as; National Grid, BP, RWE, SSEN Transmission, Iberdrola and National Gas Transmission in the US, UK and Europe.
We are looking for a software engineer who will join our engine team to help research and developer features that will push Optioneer in new directions: Improved and more stable performance on existing use cases New functionality that will open up new markets and use casesThe engine team makes up about half of the engineering team and comes from various backgrounds: software, physics, AI and civil/mechanical engineering. The team builds and maintains the various algorithms that power Optioneer’s routing and siting capabilities.

Some projects we’ve previously worked on:

Testing pipeline for our routing engine that creates weekly reports to monitor algorithm performance
End-to-end routing optimisation jobs using cloud orchestration services such as argo workflow
Internal library that allows us to easily define different types of optimisation problems such as: offshore cable or water pipeline routing and siting optimisation
Prototype generative-AI powered report generation tool
Design deployment an algorithm for optimally placing transmission towers along power line routes.
