Proof of workThe teamOur product SRE teams are embedded inside Kraken's engineering organizations — close enough to the product to know when something matters before it becomes an incident, senior enough in infrastructure to do something about it. We're generalist teams: we own reliability, developer experience, and the long arc of infrastructure evolution for the products we support.
The OpportunityThis role is for someone who hasn't left the craft behind, and uses that to manage the space between teams: where product development needs meet infrastructure roadmaps, where compliance and security requirements are anticipated, and where developer pain gets converted into platform investments. You know what matters before anyone tells you. You represent your team's infrastructure needs across the organization and Engineering Leadership trusts you to have it covered.
Own the SRE roadmap end-to-end: set priorities independently, drive execution, and make the team's impact visible across the org
Be the infrastructure voice for your business unit — translate upstream roadmaps into product-specific plans and advocate your team's needs back upstream
Drive compliance, security, and infrastructure topics for your business unit — identify risks early, own the resolution before they escalate
Shape developer productivity: engage regularly with product EMs to surface pain points and lead the initiatives that remove them
Contribute technical credibility to architectural discussions — bring your reliability and operational experience, and carry decisions to completion
Own your business unit's workstream in a company-wide infrastructure migration. This is hands-on technical leadership, not just stakeholder management
Lead a 4–6-person generalist SRE team through 1:1s, performance cycles, and meaningful career development
Hands-on SRE or infrastructure engineering background — you contribute directly when the situation calls for it
Fluent with cloud-native infrastructure — Kubernetes, observability stacks, CI/CD pipelines
Prior experience managing or leading a small-to-mid-size engineering team, including full performance cycles
Built and owned an SRE or infrastructure roadmap — you set priorities without waiting to be told
Represents technical needs in cross-functional and leadership conversations, including at director level
