YOUR IMPACT
We are looking for a highly motivated Engineering Operations Program Manager to aid in optimizing and scaling our R&D team. This role will focus on team efficiency, programs related to best engineering practices, vendor and budget management, and operational excellence. The end goal is ensuring that our engineering teams are set up for success in delivering world-class automation solutions.
Engineering Operations & Program Management

Develop programs and structure implementation of best practices, processes, and tools to optimize engineering operations.

Create or align programs within R&D to accomplish Redwood’s strategic goals

Drive engineering programs that improve delivery, efficiency, scalability, and collaboration across teams.

Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to measure and improve engineering effectiveness.

Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Finance, IT, HR, Security, and Compliance, to align engineering operations with business goals.
Vendor & Budget Management

Support vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management for engineering tools, cloud services, and third-party software.

Track and optimize vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness, service quality, and compliance.

Help develop and manage engineering budgets, ensuring alignment with company financial objectives and maximizing return on investment.

Collaborate with finance teams on projects related to R&D spend and planning
Process & Tooling Optimization

Enhance engineering team productivity by identifying and integrating best-in-class operational tools.

Understand and improve all of engineering's use of and productivity with CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure automation processes to support Redwood’s SaaS platform.

Establish and maintain operational dashboards to provide real-time insights into engineering performance.
YOUR EXPERIENCE

5+ years of experience in engineering operations, technical program management, or a related role within a SaaS or cloud-based company.

Strong expertise in vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget planning.

Experience working with engineering teams, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Proficiency in program management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data-driven decision-making and process optimization.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Experience in procurement, licensing, and cost optimization strategies for engineering tools and cloud services.

Experience in a SaaS automation or workload automation company.

Knowledge of engineering metrics, KPIs, and operational dashboards.

Familiarity with financial planning tools and cloud cost management platforms.

Understanding of security, compliance, and governance considerations in SaaS environments.
