A Little About Ooni
There's nothing quite like a great slice of pizza... (Okay, maybe two slices, then.)
Way back in 2012, we created a brand new outdoor cooking category with our first portable wood-fired pizza oven. Now, the Ooni lineup includes gas and multi-fuel pizza ovens, all of which bake amazing Neapolitan pizza in just 60 seconds. Yum.
These days, we're all about growth. We sell Ooni pizza ovens, accessories and groceries around the world and have an expanding (and totally awesome) global Ooni user community who love our products and use them to make epic pizza for friends and family.
What you'll do:

  • Be our Finance Business Partner! Be the financially savvy best pal our functions never knew they needed. You will:
    • Guide them through the quarterly budget cycle.
    • Help them understand and translate their performance into measurable, trackable and transparent numbers.
    • Give them a reproachful but not too judgey shake of the head when you catch them using a calculator to add up numbers on a spreadsheet.
  • While you might not have a crystal ball, your planning and budgeting skills will help us peek into the future and plan for whatever's around the corner.
  • Even though our amazing pizza ovens are the very peak of elegant simplicity, things can get pretty complex behind the scenes. We're multinational, multi-currency, multi-channel, multi-cheerios and, on top of all that, dealing with whatever crazy macro economic curveballs the world has decided to hurl at businesses this this week/month/year. You'll laugh in the face of this so called complexity and use your analytical super powers to pluck those nuggets of insight that shine a light on past and future performance.
  • You'll work with Stephen, our wonderful Group Reporting Manager, to create company and departmental budgets. And then you'll track how we're performing against them and make a frowny 'I'm not angry I'm just disappointed' face if we overspend. You're going to become good pals with our marketing gang as they pretty much spend everything.
  • Your analysis will be key in our decision-making, so your ability to draw insight, present and be challenged is as important as the complex financial models and scenario analysis you'll create.
  • Our ERP system is Netsuite. We put it in last year so it's lovely and shiny new with lots of lovely shiny new data. Help us point this wonderful machine towards world domination.
  • We've recently moved from a centralised to a regional model, so we'll need your help to rework our budget and reporting process to split by region - driving clarity and autonomy for our new Presidents of the US (not that one) and Europe / Rest of World respectively.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • You're a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/CA or similar). We'll of course still consider QBE.
  • You have 4+ years of experience in accounts and finance - specifically in budgeting, forecasting and business partnering. You've got to know your way around a balance sheet and P&L, with the ability to embrace complex data to provide valuable insights.
  • You've got super analytical skills and demonstrated experience in building spectacular financial models.
  • =if(candidate="awesome at Excel","Woo hoo!","Sorry pal you've got to know your pivot tables from your xlookups for this gig.")
  • You have a hawk-like eye for detail and porcupine-like passion for process.
  • You're a fluent communicator in both Finance and Non-finance speak, and can translate between the two to deal with a wide range of stakeholders across the business.
  • You have experience working your way around a big ERP system. Working knowledge of Netsuite would be a bonus but is by no means essential.
  • You can really get on board with our values. Especially Rigour for this job. And even more especially Passion. Actually, especially all of them. They're all important.

Why Ooni:

  • We make AMAZING pizza ovens that cook AMAZING pizza in 60 seconds. Even Beyonce's got one.
  • We've grown super fast over the last few years (10x since 2019) and have real plans in place to continue that trajectory and make Ooni a household name all over the world.
  • We've got a lovely office at Edinburgh Park and we're in there 3 days a week and the home baking levels are honestly off the charts right now.
  • These are our values: Passion, Rigour, Innovation, Ambition and Kindness. We really do live by them and demand them in everything we do. It ain't just corporate mumbo jumbo to us. See how they're capitalised to show how important they are?

Benefits:

  • £1,000 to spend on Ooni stuff every year!
  • £500 to spend on your passion every year - whatever that may be. It's Excel, right? Imagine how many 'I Love Spreadsheets' mugs you could buy for £500...
  • Flexible Fridays. If you've finished what you need to for the week, you can pack up at lunchtime and start your weekend early
  • Great pizza every single day if you want it. Yep. Every single day. And we'll teach you to become a pizza pro
  • Option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays
  • Pension scheme, cycle to work, lots of treats
  • 35 days of holiday
  • Work for an employer that cares about your wellbeing! We've got an employee assistance programme which includes on demand coaching and therapy sessions
  • We're all about giving back. That's why we offer five paid days to volunteer each year
  • Continuing Education - we encourage our employees to use our learning platform to grow here at Ooni
  • We love our people and look after them well. If there's something that's important to you but missing here, let's chat about it and see what we can do.

If you need to know more, have a look at our website. Read a bit about our values and products and generally just have a wee Google. If you like what you see and you fit the bill, send in your CV with a cover letter to tell us why you want to come on board. We really like nice letters - especially ones that are personalised just for us and this job - so please please please don't forget that bit. We've never hired someone who didn't write us a nice letter. Except Jeff... but he did a very cool dance.
Closing date:
Friday 29th November

What We Do

Why we do what we do?

Because everyone deserves great pizza, that’s why. It’s a simple idea, but a noble cause that’s behind everything we do at Ooni. We’re working our wee socks off and won’t rest until there’s an Ooni pizza oven in the backyard of every person everywhere.

What we do:

We design, make and sell AMAZING pizza ovens. They’re so AMAZING that lower-case adjectives just don’t do them justice.

Right now, we sell our pizza ovens all over the world. Hot and fast is how you cook truly great pizza, and- all of our models get hot as hell (that’s 932°F/500°C last time we checked) and cook incredible pizza in only 60 seconds. Before Ooni, if you wanted pizza that good, you had to go to a restaurant or spend thousands on a traditional pizza oven. Not anymore, friends.

Work with us:

We have a 300-plus-strong multi-national team who are busy designing, selling, branding, internet-ing, events-ing, supporting, marketing, welding, shipping, financing, photographing and dancing (probably) to make magic happen. Ooni is a beautiful machine that grows and learns every day, and it’s really freaking amazing to be a part of it all.

Why Work With Us

Our Impact:

We care about building a business for good and paying it forward, too. We’re a kind business filled with kind people. We donate 1% of every sale to carefully chosen social and environmental causes, and we’re a member of 1% for the Planet, who can totally vouch for us.
