Job Description
Role Summary
We're looking for a motivated Finance professional to join our Site Finance Team. The successful candidate will partner the Heads of Manufacturing, Operations Managers and Functional Heads with Site Overheads (ZBB costs), product costing and compliance with financial controls. They will develop financial understanding at site by delivering actionable financial insight and analysis to support performance, drive efficiency and target delivery.
The Finance Business Partner translates complex data into clear recommendations, champions continuous improvement, and ensures robust financial stewardship across all key processes. A team of two Finance Business Partners are responsible for the ZBB Costs of the site, valued at circa £50m per annum. Along with day to day cost management, the role includes responsibility for stock provisions, product costing and critical compliance deliverables, as well as supporting process improvement, savings initiatives and capital investment justification.
The right candidate will be developing their career in Finance and looking to broaden their experience in a large, complex manufacturing site. They will have demonstrated their ability to understand and apply their knowledge in a way which translates financial data into meaningful reporting used to improve decision making and drive business performance. Rather than operating on gut feel, the Kraft Heinz Management System encourages us to make informed choices using facts and data. Along with monthly reporting routines, the Finance Business Partner will prepare monthly forecasts and lead the annual planning cycle for their area of responsibility. Working closely with the Manufacturing Finance Lead and Finance Analyst, this role sits at the heart of the business and would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with all levels, delivering strong financial performance and driving growth.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Business Partnering
• Co-own the ZBB Costs of the site, providing guidance to the Operations Team and Functional Leads.
• Deliver timely and insightful reporting to ensure costs are controlled against AOP/Latest Estimate, and corrective action is taken to meet stretching annual targets.
• Support business reviews and scenario modelling with robust data analysis.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by supporting operational and functional colleagues with the justification and delivery of 90 Day Improvement Plans, Savings Initiatives and Capex Projects. Operational Finance, Cost Control & Monthly Financial Reporting
• Prepare and review site ZBB costs for area of responsibility.
• Review actual postings, post corrections and provisions to meet month end close deadlines.
• Manage internal recharge of costs, consumables and intercompany transfers. • Support Manufacturing Finance Lead with preparation of VIC reporting, including Direct Labour, Material Usage Variance and Other VIC.
• Review and update Supply Chain Loss Provisions, including processing stock disposal requests and recharges.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of variance to AOP/Latest Estimate by package. Provide commentary on drivers.
• Complete monthly cost centre reviews with operational and functional leads.
• Share learnings on indirect procurement process, material issues and internal cross charges with ARIBA & SAP end users.
• Coordinate with colleagues to ensure functional location and asset master data is accurately maintained. Budgeting & Forecasting
• Lead ZBB forecast and AOP within monthly and annual cycles. Provide support to the Manufacturing Finance Lead for relevant VIC package.
• Coordinate product related elements of AOP Standard Setting process, including BOM changes, scrap percentages, interchangeables, SKF and fixed conversion costs.
• Proactively identify risks and opportunities to the financial outlook.
• Support preparation of the monthly Forecast Deck and AOP Check Point Packs. Financial Compliance
• Establish and implement appropriate internal control processes to align with KHC policies.
• Drive compliance with corporate financial policies and regulatory requirements across all functions.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closure procedures and reporting in accordance with corporate policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee MRO Perpetual Inventory tracking, external audit testing and timely resolution of audit queries.
• Coordinate quarterly Fixed Asset verification, disposals and timely resolution of audit queries.
• Document and maintain site finance processes, including process maps and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with Central EPDM Finance and other UK factory teams to align on policies and best practice. Product Costing
• Manage site process to cost raw, packaging and finished goods produced at Kitt Green.
• Act as gatekeeper for changes to material master data and master recipes.
• Ensure trials, experiments and new product launches are conducted within the agreed process and where appropriate costs are recharged to R&D.
• Coordinate product status reviews in preparation for AOP
Expected Experience / Required Skills
  • Late PQ or newly qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA) with 3+ years' experience in the finance function.
  • Experience of preparing and delivering information to operational colleagues in a medium sized manufacturing, FMCG or similar sized business.
  • An organised, self-starter with an overview of deliverables and a track record of timely delivery.
  • Curious, positive and proactive. A problem-solving mindset with a strong eye for detail.
  • Enjoys collaborating with non-financial colleagues to share information and identify improvements supporting delivery of financial and operational KPIs.
  • Has worked cross functionally, navigating both formal and informal reporting lines to deliver tangible results on process and improvement projects.
  • Willing to question established business practices and seek better ways of working. Shares with others to find the best outcome. Not scared to ask questions to develop their business knowledge.
  • Applies a continuous improvement mindset to all aspects of the scope and responsibilities of the role. Actively flags opportunities to streamline and standardize.
  • A team player, who works closely with others to deliver on the team's objectives. Flexible and willing to work outside of the boundaries of their regular role to develop their career.
  • Essential: Good understanding of the foundations of cost accounting, financial analysis and planning, with room to develop within the role.
  • Essential: Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Essential: Experience of using SAP or similar ERP system.
  • Essential: Ability to communicate information in an accessible way to financial and non-financial colleagues. Looking to develop their experience of working with a wider audience across all levels of the organisation.
  • Desirable: Experience of process improvement and small project teams. Training in the Kraft Heinz Management System (KHMS) will be provided to support your development in this area.
