Make Your Mark:
BlackLine is seeking an experienced Technical Financial Systems Lead to join our Financial Systems team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Systems, this role will architect, develop, and support the core systems leveraged by our Accounting & Finance teams, with a primary focus on Order-to-Revenue (O2R) systems, including Zuora Billing, Revenue, Avalara, and NetSuite. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as both an Administrator and Solutions Architect, with a proven track record of maintaining, optimizing, and enhancing complex financial systems.
You should be proficient in designing and implementing robust system integrations, authoring detailed technical documentation, and performing deep technical troubleshooting. As we continue to explore AI-driven automation and intelligent workflows, you'll play a key role in shaping how we leverage these capabilities to drive operational efficiency and future-proof our financial systems landscape.
You'll Get To:
    • Lead and contribute to the development of financial system enhancements and automation projects throughout the full SDLC lifecycle, leveraging Zuora (Billing, Revenue, and OneID), Avalara, NetSuite, Salesforce, Workato, Sigma, Snowflake, and JIRA.
    • Architect and build scalable, automated solutions by analyzing our internal users' complex processes, workflows, and technical requirements.
    • Design, develop, and manage system integration projects within the Order-to-Revenue ecosystem. This includes defining technical specifications, overseeing development and deployment, and ensuring ongoing system health and performance.
    • Author and execute complex, custom queries (such as SQL or ZOQL) to build sophisticated reports and provide data for analysis and decision-making.
    • Support data migration activities related to new acquisitions, international expansion, and new system implementations, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
    • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new system customizations and process changes, ensuring alignment with business needs and accurate execution.
    • Develop and deliver end-user training on new systems, features, and policies, including creating technical documentation, instruction manuals, and conducting training sessions.
    • Provide advanced troubleshooting, logging, and resolving complex issues through the internal ticketing system (JIRA) to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
    • Establish and govern technical standards, best practices, and design patterns for configurations and integrations within the Zuora ecosystem
    • Uphold compliance by supporting monthly and quarterly ITGC processes with thorough documentation and sign-offs.
    • Manage and coordinate system implementations, enhancements, and integrations, collaborating with third-party partners to ensure successful project execution.

What You'll Bring:
    • A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience with Zuora Billing and Revenue serving as both a technical Administrator and a Solutions Architect.
    • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting or a related field.
    • Proven experience working directly with Accounting and Finance teams, translating their needs into technical solutions with a strong understanding of revenue recognition principles (ASC 606)
    • Strong expertise in financial systems and tools including Zuora Billing, Zuora Revenue, NetSuite, iPaaS platforms, Salesforce, Confluence, and JIRA.
    • Deep technical understanding of Zuora's platform and architecture, including the Billing Object Model, Workflow, Deployment Manager, Developer Tools, and the ability to write custom, complex queries using Data Query.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in writing advanced SQL, SOQL, or other query languages (ZOQL) for reporting and data extraction.
    • Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable integrations between financial systems using APIs and iPaaS solutions.
    • Experience creating enterprise-level technical documentation, including solution designs, data flow diagrams, and API specifications.
    • Prior experience creating change management documentation to support ITGCs
