Role Description

Our Corporate IT Engineering team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fleet Engineer to manage and optimize our global endpoint fleet across Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS. With Dropbox actively expanding its Zero Trust security program and modernizing endpoint management, this role will be crucial in ensuring employees have secure, reliable, and seamless device experiences that enable productivity from day one.

You will be a key partner and subject matter expert working with Security, Corporate Infrastructure, and IT Support to deliver streamlined onboarding workflows, empower self-service, and maintain compliance across the fleet. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of endpoint management platforms (Intune, Jamf, Google Admin), excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for balancing enterprise-grade security with great user experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the endpoint fleet across Windows (Intune), macOS (Jamf), and ChromeOS (Google Admin), including policies, profiles, configurations, and integrations.
  • Monitor device health, performance, and compliance; identify issues and implement optimizations to ensure security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Provide technical support and training to IT Support and end-users on endpoint tools, workflows, and self-service capabilities
  • Develop and maintain user documentation and runbooks for onboarding, device setup, and self-service processes.
  • Design, implement, and maintain onboarding workflows, automations, and self-service portals to streamline device provisioning and improve employee experience.
  • Evaluate, configure, and manage integrations between endpoint platforms, identity systems, and security tools to extend functionality and enforce Zero Trust.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint security best practices (patching, encryption, conditional access) to protect company data and ensure compliance with SOC2 / ISO 27001.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Security, Identity, CorpInfra, IT Support) to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of device configurations, policies, and processes.
  • Stay current with the latest trends in endpoint management and Zero Trust, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and modernization

On-call work may be necessary occasionally to help address bugs, outages, or other operational issues, with the goal of maintaining a stable and high-quality experience for our customers.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as an Endpoint / Fleet Engineer managing Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS devices at scale.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Intune, Jamf Pro, and Google Admin (or equivalent endpoint management platforms).
  • Experience with scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to streamline device management and reduce manual tasks.
  • Solid understanding of endpoint security practices including patch management, disk encryption, and conditional access.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and how they apply to device and identity management.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze complex endpoint issues.
  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally, with clear communication to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation skills, with experience maintaining knowledge bases, SOPs, and onboarding guides
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale fleets (1,000+ endpoints).
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or equivalent.
  • Exposure to modern endpoint security tools (e.g., CrowdStrike, Zscaler, BeyondCorp).
  • Knowledge of device lifecycle management best practices (procurement, provisioning, refresh, and decommissioning).
  • Experience designing self-service workflows or portals for employees.
  • Relevant certifications in endpoint management, security, or operating systems (e.g., Microsoft, Jamf, CompTIA Security+).
  • Experience working in agile IT or engineering environments with a focus on continuous improvement.
