About You:
- You are an engineer at heart who finds joy in building the software that other software runs on
- You believe that a platform should be a set of robust, resilient, and intuitive libraries, not just a collection of scripts
- You are excited about software design patterns and know when they are helping or getting in the way
What skills do I need?
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, building complex backend solutions in a SaaS environment
- Expert skills in at least one of Node.js, Typescript, or Go
- Proficiency in relational and nonrelational databases
- Strong understanding of cloud native or cloud hybrid solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice to haves
- Familiarity with our other parts of our tech stack - including React, Typescript, Golang, RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Postgres, AWS
- Prior experience developing tools to improve the developer experience
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines
- Previous experience mentoring junior engineers
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain clean, high-quality, efficient and well tested code that aligns with project specifications
- Architect and implement key abstractions that bridge the gap between Software Engineering and DevOps
- Proactively identify pain points in the platform and propose elegant solutions
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering counterparts to build robust and reliable tooling
- Develop and maintain thorough technical documentation for our platform
