Join the team behind Kpler’s Voyage Calculator—an innovative tool empowering users to analyze and optimize maritime logistics. As a Front-End Engineer on the Voyage Calculator team, you’ll help build intuitive interfaces that enable users to evaluate complex voyages, simulate routing scenarios, and predict bunker and freight costs with precision. Your work will directly support decision-makers in the maritime and commodities space, helping them navigate key factors like canal crossings, ECA zones, and evolving market rates with clarity and confidence.
Your mission is to:
- Ship features end-to-end - Work in a cross-functional squad to design, build and ship new functionality for our existing products.
- Keep quality high - Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews and help maintain our shared component library.
- Improve our UIs - Bring thoughtful ideas on performance, accessibility and visual polish; pair with designers to iterate quickly.
- Collaborate & learn - Contribute to technical decisions, ask questions, share knowledge and seek feedback from senior engineers. Support and mentor other engineers.
- Support reliability - Help monitor, debug and resolve production issues to keep us within our SLAs/SLOs.
- Explore new tech - Take part in spikes or proof-of-concepts to assess frameworks, tooling and best practices that could benefit the team.
It will be a match if you are or have:
- Professional proficiency in English (written & spoken).
- 3+ years building web applications with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Solid experience with a modern framework - Vue (our main stack) or React, and styling utilities such as Tailwind CSS.
- Comfort writing unit / component tests (e.g., Jest, Vitest, Testing Library).
- Experience consuming RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data.
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and basic CI/CD concepts; exposure to Docker or similar container tooling.
- Understanding of clean code principles (e.g., SOLID) and common design patterns.
- Exposure to micro-frontends
- Knowledge of AWS (our cloud of choice) or another major cloud platform.
- Exposure to other languages such as Python or Scala.
- Interest in performance-optimisation, Web Vitals or accessibility standards.
