Department OverviewThe Evidence and Devices Engineering team is responsible for Motorola Solutions’ body cameras, vehicle cameras and evidence management software leveraged in public safety and enterprise applications worldwide.
We are a thriving and growing company in search of a Frontend Software Engineer to join our evidence management team in the vibrant city of Edinburgh, Scotland. This full-time position offers the opportunity to play a significant role in the development and growth of our software engineering projects. We are seeking a talented and proactive individual who can contribute to our team’s success and foster a spirit of collaboration within the company.
Job Description

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and maintain responsive and user-friendly web applications using Angular framework.

  • Manage the upkeep of existing web applications employing Marionette.js guaranteeing their continued utility and effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements, subsequently translating them into effective technical solutions.

  • Writing and conducting unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to identify, fix bugs and ensure the reliability of the front-end code.

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest front-end development trends and technologies.


Basic Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional frontend development experience, with a strong focus on Angular.

  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.

  • Familiarity with UI/UX principles, and ability to work closely with designers to translate designs into realization.

  • Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with testing frameworks Jasmine, Karma, and Cypress.

  • Familiarity with build tools and continuous integration (Webpack, Gulp, Jenkins, etc.).

  • Understanding of security best practices to prevent common vulnerabilities such as cross-site scripting (XSS) and cross-site request forgery (CSRF).

  • Awareness of accessibility standards (WCAG) to ensure that web applications are usable and navigable by individuals with disabilities.
