We give you a world of potential
This is a rare opportunity to help shape and mature risk management across a Global Finance function at a pivotal stage of its development. As a Global Finance Senior Risk Consultant, you’ll play a central role in embedding the Enterprise Risk Management Framework across Global Finance, strengthening controls, supporting change and building a consistent, high quality risk culture worldwide.
You’ll help build risk capability from the ground up, with genuine freedom to shape how risk oversight operates across Global Finance. Joining a highly diverse, supportive and forward thinking global risk team, you’ll work closely with finance leaders across geographies, influencing outcomes and providing constructive challenge. This role offers real influence, development and progression, with the opportunity to define and grow the role from day one.
A role you will love
This is a Second Line of Defence oversight and advisory role supporting the Global Finance function. You’ll balance independent risk challenge with practical, value adding guidance, working closely with Finance leaders to help them understand, own and manage their risks in an effective and commercially grounded way.
Operating in a complex, global environment, you’ll contribute to both day to day risk oversight and longer term change initiatives. The role offers meaningful exposure to senior stakeholders, real influence across Global Finance, and the opportunity to work autonomously while remaining fully integrated within a collaborative and supportive risk team.
Key responsibilities and focus areas:
- Partnering with Global Finance teams, including Treasury, Reconciliations and Account Openings, to provide oversight, advice and constructive challenge
- Supporting execution of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including Risk & Control Self Assessments, loss events, findings management, risk appetite and metrics
- Embedding risk and control frameworks across Global Finance
- Supporting and overseeing finance specific risk areas, including treasury and reconciliation activities
- Driving change and continuous improvement to mature risk practices, tools and reporting
- Supporting the rollout, enhancement and adoption of the GRC tool and delivering risk training to first line teams
- Producing clear, insightful risk reporting for governance forums, committees and senior stakeholders
- Operating confidently in a complex and evolving global environment, balancing independence with collaboration and comfort with ambiguity
What will you bring to the role?
You’ll bring solid experience from a Second Line of Defence risk role, ideally within or aligned to finance, along with the confidence to provide independent challenge while building strong, trusted relationships. You’re comfortable translating complex risk concepts into practical, commercially focused advice and enjoy working in a global environment where you can help shape and mature risk capability over time.
Key skills:
- Proven risk management experience within a Second Line of Defence, ideally aligned to finance
- Strong understanding of finance related risks and controls, including treasury, reconciliations or account management
- Hands on experience working with Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and risk oversight processes
- Credible risk advisory capability, with confidence to influence, challenge constructively and partner with senior stakeholders
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication, including risk insight, reporting and governance materials
- Analytical mindset with sound judgement and strong attention to control design and effectiveness
- Experience working in global or matrix environments, with exposure to GRC tools or audit/compliance settings (desirable and developable)
- Collaborative, adaptable and organised working style, comfortable operating independently while balancing competing priorities across a global remit
