A Little About Ooni
Here at Ooni, we're passionate about our people. Since our humble origins as a team of 2 back in 2012, we now employ over 270 talented, creative and kind pizza lovers across the world. When you work here, you'll be joining a diverse team that values Kindness, Passion, Innovation, Ambition and Rigor above all else. We live, work and play by these values, and we think it shows.
What You'll Do
We're looking for a
Global Payroll Supervisor
to oversee and manage the end-to-end payroll process across multiple countries. You'll ensure accurate and timely payroll for our international workforce while adhering to local laws, regulations, and company policies.
We've got team members in the UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, France, China, Finland, Sweden, the US, and Canada. You'll collaborate with our People team and other departments to onboard and offboard team members seamlessly, handle payroll queries, and keep an eye out for improving processes and efficiency.
You'll own the relationships with our local payroll providers, ensuring compliance with tax laws, labour regulations, and company policies. Confident in reviewing outputs from outsourced providers, you'll challenge where necessary to ensure accuracy. Additionally, you'll handle month-end tasks for each country, including maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Ooni has a hybrid approach to work, with a minimum of 3 days a week (Tuesday to Thursday) at our office at Edinburgh Park.
What You'll Need to Succeed

  • 3+ years of proven multinational payroll skills and a deep deep specialism in navigating everything that's payroll-related - Pensions, HMRC, Payroll Giving, Cycle to Work etc.
  • You know your way around a payroll system like a big nerdy Neo from The Matrix. But instead of stopping bullets and doing kung-fu, you're firing out P60s and posting non-pensionable salary adjustments. I don't know about you, but I would watch that movie.
  • You have a hawk-like eye for detail and a porcupine-like passion for process.
  • You're freakishly organised. You almost certainly have a magnetic family planner on your fridge and it probably says something like 'use lettuce before Tuesday' on it.
  • You have great communication skills. A huge part of the job will be supporting the wider team with any queries they may have. You'll also be working extremely closely with the outsourced Payroll providers.
  • You are confident with month-end processes to ensure that our monthly accounts get over the line correctly and on time.
  • You can really get on board with our values. Especially Rigour for this job. And even more especially Passion. Actually, especially all of them. They're all important.

Why Ooni?

  • Go to YouTube and search "We are Ooni". We're super proud of our culture and think you'll love it here too. Here are some other reasons:
  • Work for an employer that cares about your well-being! We've got an employee assistance programme which includes on-demand coaching and therapy sessions
  • 35 days of paid time off per year, plus an additional 5-week sabbatical when you've been here for 5 years
  • £500 every year to spend on your passion - whatever that may be
  • £1,000 to spend on Ooni products each year, plus 50% discount on any other Ooni stuff
  • We're all about giving back. That's why we offer five paid days to volunteer each year
  • Continuing Education - we encourage our employees to use our learning platform to grow
  • Great pizza every single day if you want it. Yep. Every single day. And we'll teach you to become a pizza pro!

Take a look at our website to learn more about our products, culture and values. If you like what you see, send in your CV with a cover letter to tell us why you want to come on board. We really like nice letters - especially ones that are personalised just for us! - so please please please don't forget that bit. We've never hired someone who didn't write us a nice letter. Except for Jeff... but he did a cool dance.
Closing date: 1 November 2024
Having a fantastic culture is really important to all of us at Ooni. We work hard to make it diverse and inclusive, and want everyone to have access to the same opportunities. If you would like this advert in a different format or need an alternative method of applying, please let us know. You can email us at [email protected]

But the fusion of past and future isn't just visible in its buildings; it's also shaping the city's economy.
